Hmmm

This is a good question. I’m sure there are worse NFL coaches to win because that seems easier to do.

NBA, you normally have to be great.

I am struggling to think of one. Maybe Paul Westhead?
There’s a pretty sizable number of nfl coaches who suck that won it all honestly. Barry Switzer has 1, Mike Shanahan has 2, John harbaugh has 1, Mike McCarthy has 1, and that’s just since 1995. A sport that formats it’s playoffs as a single elimination game leaves the door open for that to happen fairly regularly. Best of 7 it’s real tough for a bad coach to get one.

That is what I said in my post.

Brian Billick is another example. (Mike Shanahan is a good coach, just a dikkhead so I would take him off)

That's why I said it is very hard to think of one in the NBA. The only one I can think of is Paul Westhead, but I don't think he was a bad coach but he did not get along with Magic.

I also don't think Ty Lue is a bad coach either. He may be the worst to win a title, but I would not mind him coaching the Wizards over Scott Brooks.

Billick only had one year of good quarterback play his tenure with the ravens. Shanahan won 1 playoff game after Elway retired. He was definitely not good. The one thing I’ve noticed with brooks is that the players in Oklahoma City all developed their skills considerably under his coaching even though the rotation decisions weren’t good and his offense lacked any imagination.

Korver was cold, he wasnt moving the needle. Smith and green got his minutes cause they are better defenders

Why y'all naming Ravens coaches? :camby:

Billick had 1 flaw....Kyle Boller love. Then McNair got hurt.

John Harbaugh has been a good coach. They just have draft issues at WR. Ozzie should have hired a WR specialist to help him out.

2008-feburary 2013 John Harbaugh was as good as any coach in the game. The last 5 years lack of talent at WR and coaches moving on to HC gigs so no consistency with the coordinators.

Westhead was far from a bad coach, some would call him a basketball genius (at least offensively).
