Or turn heel and make them pay to see you lose :cmsas2:

That only works for certain ppl tho. Some ppl don't have that natural a$$hole personality and just come off as forced/corny like the ppl I mentioned. Like Dillashaw. He has one defense against a journeymen and hes already talking about superfights

Anybody else feel like Cormier being the champ is kinda corny? I mean, he's only champ because the real champ is a certified dikkhead. Seriously though, Cormier already lost to the real champ, and had his chance but failed and was pitiful in accepting his defeat. Now, he wins the belt by default kinda. Not saying that to get past Rumble is an easy task, but, if Cormier has any pride (which he doesn't considering the c00nish Chicken & Cake skit), he should feel that his win is a bit hollow. I mean he's still number two amongst the LHWs regardless of having a strap.

I don't know. Maybe because if you like someone you would be more inclined to pay for their fights?

you don't know them though. so why are you so invested in whether or not you "like" them? how is that a deciding factor?

do you like watching them fight? is it a good match-up? is it an important fight? those type of questions fuel me 1000x more than 'if I liked what they said in that interview'.

obviously i'm narrowing this down to you and to the mma game...but it's just a pet-peeve i've always had with athletes (and their fans/haters) in general. it's just a weird concept to me on that level.

After this card, I think it's pretty much necessary to have a wrestling background if you want to succeed in the UFC.

fukkin kills me to see Rumble lose like that, i think the pressure & hype of the title got to him, he was gassed too early on.Just like @The G.O.D II said he needs to be more patient next time and work on his takedown defense and work on getting back up. hard to do with an olympic wrestler but Rumble def has the skills to beat DC.

it always has been beneficial if not necessary. you don't have to be Olpympic level or even National champ but just a background in wrestling or at least a decent amount of time training for it.
