NY need to bring back the death penalty

They didnt use it when they had it and as far as i know, no one on death row was close to an execution date let alone were even remotely close to running out of appeals. They were essentially doing life sentences because they werent going to be executed as the state wasnt serious. In other words, it was a huge waste of money. They did away with it in 2007 after starting it up again in 95.

NYPD: Former state corrections officer wanted for East Flatbush double homicide

The NYPD is searching for 47-year-old Jason Pass in connection with the fatal shootings of his neighbors.

The New York Department of Corrections and Community Supervision confirmed Pass was a correction officer at the Sing Sing Correctional Facility from September 2004 to June 2005, until he was terminated, according to prisons spokesperson Thomas Mailey. Mailey said the agency had no additional comment “due to the ongoing investigation” and he did not provide a reason for Pass’ firing.

According to a Daily News story from 2005, Pass was arrested while off-duty for allegedly pointing a pistol and shouting expletives at two plainclothes police officers after honking and tailgating them in their unmarked car. He was arrested and charged with menacing and reckless endangerment.
