Because I specifically searched about that fight on twitter/hfboards the day after it happened and I saw it on ESPN. There were no widespread sentiments expressed like there were against Richard Sherman.

I was speaking about a specific instance ... you say fans want instances like that (+ others) out of the game, so I conceded that you may be right. But for THAT particular situation, nothing I saw matched the Sherman hate.

And I said I only follow the Blues RIGHT NOW consistently. Not that I haven't followed hockey enough to know what's going on within the culture.

I love how people who know nothing about hockey try to slander it.

Every hockey team has 4 lines

First two are skill lines that do mostof the sscoring.

Third line is the defensive grinder line that usually plays against the first line

Fourth line is just usually enforcers, goons, guys with no skills who play like 5 minutes out of 60 a night.

By the flames putting their goon line to start was basically a f u we are going to smash your first line skill line. So the canucks put their goons out there as well.

And goons only fight with goons why NP one cares if fighting is gone.

I sit and reflect all the way back to how this country was attained and built, and it was not right.

If we do have outbursts or "thug moments" as them muthafukkaz call it. That shyt pales in comparison to thievery, rape, and enslavement.

Trust me I live in Canada and both teams and their coaches got taken over the rails by the hockey community at large.

I was reading stories on CBC, tsn and 95 percent of comments were talking about getting the Goonery out of the game.

i dont think the point of the thread is to prove that white people have no issue with the fighting in hockey

the fact is white people will never allow isolated incidents in hockey or anywhere else define them as a people as a whole. they understand the acts of that individual, is just that, the acts of that individual

but when it pertains to black athletes, entertainers, or just reg every day people, those same white people for the most part will go against they own conventional wisdom and allow they white supremacist racist judgmental and arrogant attitudes take over to continue to group all other people together and judge the total of that people based on the action of 1 or a few.

whether its them trying to make all black people "thugs" based on sherman, or make all mexicans bad and need to go home based on 1 illegal robbing a store and killing someone, (hi o'reily) this attitude still seems to still run rampant even in 2014 when we are supposed to be so called "post racism"

In terms of sports:
When a black man is on screen being brash or "cocky" he's a thug and an embarrassment. What annoys me most, is how black people come out and say shyt like, "That just set us back 200 years"

On our local newscast (I'm in St. Louis) they were kind of joking about it. It was just a little blurb before they talked about this Winter Warmup event we have for the Cardinals, but it's just weird to see the different dynamics.

That shyt was stupid though. Torts has always been a hothead so I can't even defend him.
