Pretty crazy that Bobby Briggs of all the characters from the OG run has become the main emotional touchstone in the revival. Every scene involving him has been the closest thing to recapturing the feel of seasons 1/2, along with the character arc that he's gone through since then being basically the only character from the original cast that has moved on or evolved (outside of the Evolution Of The Arm
).
One of the more depressing things to me about this seasons is that when they focus on members of the old cast, they're either doing exactly the same thing as before (Shelly, Norma, Andy, Hawk, Lucy, Ben, Albert, James, Doc Hayward, Gordon) or in even worse mental shape than the last time we saw them (Dr. Jacoby, Nadine, Jerry Horne, Sylvia Horne, Sarah Palmer, Cooper, Log Lady).
Bobby is the only character that has changed his life and improved since we last saw him, and every time they show him it involves some echo of the original season that hits so hard because there is so little of that in this season. Although now that I think about it, it shouldn't be that surprising, because he was involved in the GOAT Twin Peaks scenes in the first run:
Low key, if you include the first run of the show and the Secret History of Twin Peaks, Major Briggs is the GOAT TP character.
