I don't advise anyone to "get smart" in their 20's. You need to be smart enough to value education early so you on the path the college and can survive.

I quit my job and corporate america because I want to deal with cac, black, whites, and 'others' on my own terms...... but I'm not gonna look funny at any black guy who uses the system to advance himself and his family--- as long as he's not c00ning it up.

It doesn't take too much effort to assist and help other blacks once u get on. Most of the things an individual can do aren't difficult.

But ur right about the fact that it take money to create change. Ur wrong in implying that the alternative to selling out is back to the hood. First off, any community is what u make it. Second, nobody is suggesting "keeping it real" or any of that by turning down money. That's foolish. Foolishness isn't part of any solution.

gets very tiring taking orders and being owned. i've worked good jobs that i just got tired of working in that environment. the happiest day was the day you quit. it feels like you just real acquired freedom.
after about 2 weeks you start wishing your back on the job lol...

now i own my sh1t and it feels great. the only problem with being a black small business owner is you don't know what will happen next week. sh1iit you don't know what will happen the next day. winter was slow then march was the best month ever. then april was the worst month ever. so you're always on your toes.

i dont even watch tv anymore. i haven't in years. before that link if you asked me who sheryl underwood was i wouldn't know. i'd have to google and wiki.
thing with tv is if you watch the show you won't catch what that link says. if you watch tv shows these subliminal hate messages are fed into us without noticing.which is even more dangerous.

you think most kids at top public universities and top private colleges took college courses in 12th grade? I don't even think that is allowed outside of public school where they typically have you take college courses at a community college or something. I personally don't trust any system that has you taking college courses in high school....they need to offer AP courses and have you take AP exams aka DO THEIR JOB!

Most kids that went to private school and took AP courses were the most prepared for college. I only met a few public school kiddies that were ready for college from day one and they usually came from an affluent neighborhood.

i agree, i took Ap and college. was already accepted early to msu when i was in the 11th...when i was 16--- but regardless, my overall point is that our education system is a joke. including college. The majority of people who graduated hs aren't prepared for success.

but a somali woman is genetically different than the majority of "African American" woman because the somali woman is from the other side of the continent. That's like comparing a celt with a slav.

And I mean that in terms of how she views Black men, not how she views herself.
