I wonder if they're killing off shows they own on purpose to spite Disney. People forget that most of the people who work for FOX's film and TV division are getting axed once the government approves the deal.

I think its bc they didn't own any of the shows (B99 produced by NBCUniversal and its already in syndication)

Just checked you're right about B99, though The Mick and Last Man On Earth are owned though.

Fox probably tried to cancel it last year but then Universal/Comcast sweetened the deal to get it to 100.

What was the ratings like?

Ppl be quick to do an outcry when a show is finished but if it wasn't bringing in viewers or advertisers, then thems be the breaks. :manny:

Ppl always hate on Simpsons and Family Guy, but those shows are such powerhouses outside of their TV shows that it doesn't make financial sense to cancel them. Hell, same with Big Bang Theory. Business 101.

They were pretty low. Most of the prediction websites had it as a toss up at most.

This outcry happens every time a quality show with low ratings happens. Plus Fox just made a Thursday Night Football deal so they had to cut something.

‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine,’ ‘The Mick’ and ‘The Last Man on Earth’ all canceled at FOX

All three shows put up marginal ratings this season, with “Last Man” averaging a 0.8 same-day rating among adults 18-49 and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and “The Mick” both at 0.7. With a week of delayed viewing, “Nine-Nine” and “The Mick” improved to 1.3 and “Last Man” to 1.2.

Then yeah, the social media outcry may get B99 a pickup from Hulu or Netflix, but I'd be cautious if I were them to pick up a show so suddenly when it only gets a huge outpour of support from their fans once it's cancelled.

The social media outcry will be prevalent the next few days but then by next week it'll only be the diehards still savoring for it.

If it wasn't doing numbers then it wasn't doing numbers.
