I thought the Sixers were going after Tyrone Lue? More importantly, what would it take for us to get CP3? :jbhmm:
It sounds like the Thunder are looking to unload his contract this offseason. Part of the reason Billy is gone is because they are going full rebuild ?

Porter, Satoransky and your pick might open up the convo, but I could see OKC getting greedy and asking for either Markannen or a future first, no protection
Don’t they just want to unload the contract? Who is looking to take him on and what would they be offering?

For sure they wanna unload the deal, but they're trying to rebuild, so they wanna get the most value they can get back. Porter and Sato's deals expire after next season. They may wanna use an asset or two to swap with you guys to get Lauri back as well

The way the Thunder's books are, all they have to worry about is paying SGA because everyone worth a damn expires after next year

They should just ride it out for two more years and let him retire or jump to a contender, but I guess I get the sense of whatever asset you get for him / chance in the lottery(which is better for mid tier lotto teams now)

I just don’t know they will get such a high quality asset back for him? He definitely upped his value in these playoffs though

I don't know. That $44 mil option is a lot to have to swallow for CP3. His value is upped but the teams looking for him are gonna be limited and are gonna need other teams to spread the salaries/players out. The Bulls are realistically one of the only teams who could make something work straight up.

It would be asking a lot of Arturas in year one to forgo his capspace for next offseason (what would have been summer ‘21)

I have low expectations of what we will do with the space, but that’s because we suffered thru GarPax’s continual failures to land their top target.

and to give up a serious asset as well? Tough sell for new regime imo

I thought they were already rebuilding? Or they just overachieved? I was wondering how much of that had to do with CP3 and how it could impact our roster. We need a playmaker in the worst way.

The cp3 situation is tricky because he is what these young guys need but at the same time trading for him takes us out the free agency plan. Personally I dont think we should be dependent of free agency. But if the plans are clearing up enough for 2 max slots cp3 kills that. Is that worth it?

CP would help but dude is at the end of the line and it's not worth taking yourself out of a prime free agency for a year of guidance from CP

I always say I wish thibs would have come on for the bulls a year earlier. We were 1 year out of landing the stars. Because let's say free agency took place in 2011 instead of 2010 i think lebron wade and bosh choose chicago without question. But thibs was a new hire and rose wasn't mvp rose yet. Just wasn't meant to be.
