When I say "skill-wise" I'm referring to every single solitary technical aspect of lyricism....

This is one of your lil ridiculous revisionist history passion projects (like your Outkast hating campaign)...so I know there's no reasoning with you on it...but outside of revisionist hate on Wayne birthed out of the fact that he remained relevant all these years, is currently the top heel in rap...and therefore doesn't get any of the "nostalgia" bump the rest of the hot boys get...anybody that listens to actual LYRICS and separate the emotions, can tell what is what

I love lyrics as much as the next guy, based on your reasoning Lil Wayne > Juvi, since Juvi wasn't very lyrical.

I think Wayne is probably one of the most lyrical down south artist, but I wouldn't put him in the top 5 best Southern rappers.

Far as Turk goes, :snoop: ....again he was far and away last on the totem poll...in EVERY regard....of course you had that small group of people that was on some contratrian "fukk what y'all talking bout, Turk my dude" shyt...but it's a reason why his solo didn't drop til after Juvi, Wayne, and BG got two solo albums a piece, Big Tymers dropped an album, and like 2 or 3 complilations dropped....it really is one of the more egregious examples of revisionist history I've ever seen how you're trying to spin this shyt

- do you realize that theres much more to a skillset than just lyricism? and that theres much more to lyricism than just putting multis together and waiting for a reaction? - which is basically what wayne did thru 50% of this album.(he went off on the other half tho).

-man, you dont even understand rap after all these years. i dont even want to know what was running thru your mind in the late '90s/early '00s.

-lol @ wayne not getting a nostalgia bump. he got the biggest nostalgia bump out of everybody on cash money, as well as the media on his side.

-turk being better than wayne was a contrarian argument now? man i hope some of you dudes are no older than 20. good grief. wayne wasnt even important enough to be the victim of a contrarian statement.

-since you supposedly know so much about cash money, surely you'd know that one of the reasons why turk's album took so long to drop was because dude couldnt stay out of jail. hence, the reason why he wasnt around half the time. also, just because other people on your label are getting their records out, doesnt neccessarily mean that all of them are hotter and that people arent anticipating your record. we've seen this scenario played out with darn near every clique. where were you? you know what....dont mind me man. just continue backing yourself into that corner. every thing you say makes it obvious that you really just think that wayne was hotter because he got pushed harder & was all on the tube while you were stuck in a child-like mindstate. late '90s/early '00s nostalgia at its finest.

-and i hate to break it to you but "longevity" in hip-hop hasnt meant a dam for over 10 years now. its basically 100% about politics at this point. why i even have to say this(amongst other things) to you, shows that you dont even understand rap in 2012, let alone back then. so going back-n-forth with you is pointless. ive recently made it a point not to go in on novice cats that think they know it all. it just leads me to the point where i begin to talk down to people and i dont want to be that guy. myself and a couple others have already said what needed to be said regarding this horse-chit. go take a chill pill and cool out winslow. youre not built for this topic. have a good day.

but before youre dismissed, i'll say this. one thing i learned from your post is the reason why youre holding a grudge despite the fact that i dont even know who you are. youre basically sour because i hopped in a thread spittin the real about outkast. LISTEN MAN, i wish you little nerds would stop following me around about some corny @$$ outkast. i could care less about them corny-rappin niccas. and for the record, i never hated on them. i just stated the obvious about them and their fairy-tale "legacy". and i only do that when our resident geeks on this forum go way overboard with the di*kriding. i do the same regarding every other rapper that gets overhyped, including the ones i like(d), hence this wayne chit. theres no campaign going at all. its usually you wierdos that follow me around bringing outkast up as if i care. youre the ones running a campaign. not me. get a life.

lol.

LET HER GET IN THE CAR AT LEAST, TURK!!!

when you say "skill-wise", are you referring to forced lyricism?

lol @ you acting like "lights out" got any type of luv in '00-01. that chit was considered a waste of beats.

checkmate(albeit dissappointing) was better than "lights out".

i agree with some of what youre saying, but lol.

they didnt have much in common to begin with. wayne was never cut from the same cloth as them dudes.

really, im kinda glad that theres not gonna be a reunion. too much revisionist history revolving around this group on the account of the media & novice fans. i rather just chalk it. dont wanna see one of my all-time favorite groups go out like that.

i see you skimmed past the "when did you hop off the porch?" question. you un-intentionally answered that anyway.

who was running around quoting wayne lines from "back that thing up" & "bling bling"? mostly females, children and at best - commercial-minded 9th/10th graders who were still kinda on that kid chit. thanks for proving my point buddy.

lol @ "bling bling". that was just some chit for the radio. stood out like a sore thumb on that album.

you the homie and all but come on.

i dont know if you have your timeline mixed up or what but turk's album didnt drop until after cash money's wave was drying up, thanks in part to lackluster releases like "lights out".

also, turk's album was intially selling the same as "lights out" despite the fact that they were trying to push wayne to the moon, and just threw turk's chit out there.
I agree with the bolded. But light's out was clearly the better album. And i heard that album as i moved around. I didnt hear turk outside "it's in me". Also this doesnt negate what i said about turk's place in general. I HOPE he get's money now that he's out but he always was the weakest. Mannie and baby> turk. Yes,very serious.

All this ridiculous highsiding just to lend credence to your :duck: 's....equal parts disgusting and hilarious

BG and JUVIE were always debated and considered the best....BG was that nikka in the hood and Turk was always an after thought...juve was mainstream. Wayne was always expected to be where he's at now tho he featured on nelly albums and was a studio rat

I remember The Hot Boys' heyday. From the way I saw it, the popularity pecking order went like this:

1. Juvenile
2. BG
3. Lil Wayne
4. Turk

I'm not taking anything away from Turk. But, I didn't live down South, and caught wind of The Hot Boys when they blew up off of Juve's and BG's solo albums. Juve and BG were pretty known because they already had solo success. Wayne and Turk were definitely lower on the popularity totem pole, but Wayne was higher, and it actually had to do with him having the quick part at the end of "Back That Azz Up."
