He said that era was his best times, as far as experiencing things. He was ashamed of being dirt poor, not from living in Baltimore.

If it wasn't for that era, he would have just been a regular rapper, and probably forgot about. Those experiences made him be able to be such a prolific rapper, and actor, because he was more then just street or black power shyt, which was the norm when he came out. His acting is what set him apart from the rest!

To be honest unless he was gonna get into serious producing/writing, he did way more as a rapper than he could ever do as an actor. Black actors don't get that many opportunities to be great. Pac playing the assistant on House like Omar Epps is a waste of potential...

I think that's the other reason why some have compared Pac's life to Malcolm at times given how multi-layered it was and how all of his past experiences combined to create the man he came to be. From NYC to LA, each move had an impact on who he was.

Pac had a crazy life man. How many kids move from New York to Baltimore to San Francisco in high school? He repped Oakland because that's where he finished becoming a man but every place had an effect on him. I think it's crazy how that little school in Baltimore ended up having two kids go on to become major stars.
