We don't mention him because he came and went. Once he tried to be 'The General' on Deathrow I think everyone collectively wrote him off.

...that was struggle hammer trying to rescue a already dead career though..hammer was around long enough to become a huge star and wasnt a one hit wonder that came n went...I agree LL def did more for hip hop...but this is a real topic when GOATS are mentioned from NY u never hear LL in the convo the same way when GOATS are mentioned out west you never hear hammer's name....he took on NY rap bias way b4 tupac yet west nikkas suck tupac off daily and give hammer no props for that at all...

I didn't mean like a one hit wonder but once Deathrow/Dre/Snoop hit, at least in LA, it was like a distant distant memory.
It is weird he doesn't get mentioned as one of the GOATs from the Bay Area tho....now that you mention it....
