"Some say the blacker the berry
The sweeter the juice
I say the darker the flesh
And the deeper the roots"

"I remember Marvin Gaye
Used to sang to me
He had me feeling like Black
Was the thang to be"

As a 9 year old hearing those words for the first time, for some reason, they hit me esp. "Black was the thang be". That was probably the first song that made me think about blackness and triggered a sense of black pride in me that I never felt before at that age because at that age, i wasn't thinking about race or what it meant to be black in america.

Truly special human being. Greatest rapper of all time. No one will ever come close. Too much depth and truth and fearlessness. Never put on a clown suit. 25 years and accomplished so much and had so much wisdom.

When I listen to Pac, a lot of his songs is like he reaches out to you and makes you understand where he comes from. Even make you relate to it. There are Pac songs that I could just shred a tear after listening to it. Not many rappers could do that. At least for me at least.

i think if Pac was alive he'd be a revolutionary political figure for the black community. They had to take him out because the way he captivated people though his songs and interviews/speeches, he'd be a problem for them lazy ass no fukks given white folks. I mean this man wasn't even at his peek after AEOM dropped and he died and yet 21 years later he still has people talking about him and still has a huge following. Dude really was the MLK of Rap.
