Boots aint got the footwork or reflexes of Roy Jones though. I would call fighters like Boots and Crawford dynamic more than slick, slick means you can do it without getting hit(like Sweet Pea and Floyd) they get hit clean too much for me to call them slick(the amount of jabs Kell Brook landed on Crawford in their brief fight was... alarming), they are dynamic in their offense to where they are always throwing different punches at you from wierd angles.
At the same time the reason why I don't know how well Boots would do against Ortiz and Spence is because they are gonna throw little subtle things in that Boots aint seen before either. Spence and Ortiz aren't throwing crazy looking combos at you, but they are effective and they almost always land and win exchanges because they use their feet and shoulders to always be in position to punch and keep you from throwing your most effective punches back. Also he hasn't been in their with someone who is gonna punch with him.
On paper the styles look like a good matchup, but in real life the more I watch the two of them fight the more I think two things: 1. Ortiz and Boots will probably be a trilogy and 2. The first fight Ortiz will win because Boots aint gonna know what hit him when he gets in their with someone who is REALLY fighting back, not getting overwhelmed the whole time.
I pick Boots to beat Crawford because a lot of Crawford's game comes from his athleticism which is fading, he doesn't utilize the footwork like he did at 135 and 140 anymore, he is flat footed most of the time now cause he is loading up on all his power punches. Fighting that way Boots is more athletic, bigger, stronger, faster, just as long, taller... you get what I'm saying.
