The Crossfire really was foreboding in that national politics became just like that, not good faith arguments about the rates of taxes, or whatever but bad faith ones that twisted everyone's perspective, and painted the other party as evil, delusional, criminal. You can see it in that clip. Paul Begala and Tucker Carlson in a damn bow tie.
And real politics is just like that, these figures get out and yell and scream about this and that, and then go join consulting firms and law firms with the same people they demonized for votes.
A rough example I used is like negotiation/debate, if I think the number is 10, and you think it's 7.5, we can work that out, but if I say you are anti American because of a 3/5 % point, or you worship Satan, I don't think that will work.
