You know what, I would 100 percent support the United States, Japan and NATO arming Mongolia to the TEETH and providing them training like were doing in Ukraine. Lets look at the facts, historically all these countries were conquered by the Mongols:

Do people forget that in authoritarian countries, the most important thing you must do is make dear leader look good? What this means is that often tourists and important people are always shown the most shiny shyt to impress upon them of the country's superiority. The icons of the country must remain in pristine condition because they are the symbols of the country. As a result, you often get some areas or aspects of a country that get the utmost attention and care. But everyone and everything else is severely neglected. Moscow is the capital and where Putin resides. Why would a leader whose main concern is his appearance allow it to look like garbage if he has the power the prevent it? Even more so, why would they let a journalist who is willing to suck them off see anything besides the most upkept part of the city? Pyongyang in North Korea is probably the most extreme example of this common trait of authoritarian regimes. Pyongyang is well maintained while 95 percent of the country and population lives in squalor. It's all a facade and window dressing when you compare it to the condition of the rest of the country.
Folks who live in Russia will tell you if you throw a stone outside of Moscow and St Petersburg, it will land in the 18th century.

To add to my post above, because I didn't want to make it too long, but a related anecdote to show the difference between show and actual quality of life differences is when Boris Yeltsin came to the US and visited a normal grocery story. He was fukking shocked how much available food there was to buy that he was convinced that the CIA created this store before he visited in an effort to convince him of the superiority of the United States. He thought seeing that much food in one spot is something only the elites ever see and this was some psyop operations. He genuinely couldn't believe that shyt.
The reason he thought the CIA created the store... was because that is shyt that the soviets would do.
