The Right has been infiltrated and the Left you can argue the same or at minimum is not going down a path that would yield a strong national Identity. Granted Corporations run the show but even then the USA doesn't have the Innovation Bleeding edge hoorah image it once had.

I`m really not getting the end game for how growth/maintining position will occur post 2050.

The end game is for normal people to realize that far left and far right are dangerous in sustaining a national security. It is two camps driven by emotions and lack of rational thinking.

Communists in Soviet Republics like Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Ukraine (like Trotsky!) understood that the USSR had to offer some sort of recognition to constituent republics.
