Brehs gonna sound like Im bullshytting yall but watch Nitro 261. I previously put over all the fukkery of the late WCW PPV's but back then they aint have the nitros....:whew:

If this Nitro was on monday at 8 and it would shyt ALLL OVER the garbage on TV now. :blessed: I put it on for kicks thinking I'd skip through but I sat through the WHOLE show. Wasnt a bunch of wrestling, just storylines all day interwoven with practically the whole roster. fukkery through the roof, MAD pre taped segments. Dont wanna give anything away honestly. At the time in 2000 I didnt fukk with WCW at all so all of this is new to me.

Dont fukk with That 70s guys bus. :stopitslime:
David Flair going insane with a golden crowbar around the city :mjlol:
Disco Inferno with the Disco Duck...The Kat as the commish :blessed:
I WONT EVEN SAY MORE :wow:

Vince Russo underrated as hell, dudes writing plus on screen work is :ohlawd:
Mad layers to this shyt, you can tell a ton of effort was put into this show, dying or not.
:salute:

I had the exact same experience. I loaded one of the last 10 episodes or so expecting shyt to be laughable but they still had some exciting wrestling and then the storylines while out there were actually entertaining. Maybe it's a case of you had to be following week to week to appreciate how random and absurd the storylines were.

It's the opposite. Following it week to week made you feel like you were watching a show slowly trying to drive you insane. Dropping in randomly and seeing the fukkery is fun.

This is how I feel about the current WWE product :yeshrug:

At worst Russo gave you storylines for the whole cast. Everyone was involved from the job guys to the top guys. MAD vignettes/pre tapes of fukkery around the city/wherever. shyt now is so lazy, just matches and matches, in ring promos about beating the next guy at the PPV, GMs talking about who should fight at PPVs. No stories whatsoever. Mike Awesome powerbombing the ICP guy on his bus cause he tagged it up is more story than we have gotten on Raw in the last 3 years. :manny: So when Awesome does get a mic its not just IMA BEAT YOU AT THE PPV, hes talking shyt about people fukking with his bus. Look at Wyatt now. Since he never gets a storyline all his promos are directionless and boring as hell. This is why these guys suck. They dont give them ANYTHING to work with, even as dumb as someone doing graffiti on their bus is SOMETHING to work with.

Not saying thats you who likes what they give us, just making a comparison to this WCW shyt which is supposedly the "worst wrestling product ever":jbhmm: I aint seeing it brehs

I'm watching late 1999 RAWs

One thing that struck me was continuity.

During Triple H's feud with Vince, Vince was powerless to do anything due to a stipulation he put in place back when he was still feuding with Austin MONTHS AGO.

Shane fought Taker at WM for control of RAW and lost, but that was thrown in the bushes the next night :stopitslime:
Late 99 was GOAT. Wwf was on top of the world

I swear Luger from 96-97 had a like Goldberg esque undefeated streak....bruh won EVERY week on Nitro and him beating Hogan was one of the GOAT Nitro moments.

I've never been a big fan but he was very well booked and protected around that period but he didn't have anywhere to go once Hogan got the belt back at Road Wild.....shoulld've had a longer run with the belt although I guess they had to build to Hogan/Sting at Starrcade. They shoulda just had Hogan win the belt back at Halloween Havoc. fukk that garbage Piper shyt :camby:

They did a great job rebuilding him and establishing him as a babyface. He was REALLY over in 97.

Road Wild was a turning point in the nWo story in general. It was already starting to get stale, then they had The Outsiders screw the Steiners AGAIN in an angle that had been going on for 8 months straight, then Hogan winning back the title killed all of Lex's momentum and made it clear that WCW was never going to get more than a sliver of sunlight against that darkness. Then right after, you have Sting/Hogan being set up fully, but you know that isn't happening until Starrcade, so the next 4 months are going to be filler for Hogan and the title scene.

Then you had Perfect coming in and not saying if he was a Horsemen for MONTHS, despite teaming with Flair all the time. The NEVER fukkING ENDING Mongo/Jeff angle that had been going on for about 6 months, The Giant/Larry vs Bischoff angle that had been going on for months, plus various other lower card stuff that had been going on forever. WCW had so many long ass angles that all should have been 3 months shorter. So many weeks where they'd literally just do the same angle over to prolong the storyline. No progression at all. Just legit repeating shyt to stretch things out.

I maintain Raw 2003 was good. Watched the show before Armageddon and there was a random dope 6 man tag with Hurricane/Rosey/ Booker vs Test/ Steiner/ Mark Henry.

Steiner suplexes hurricane, then flexes at Rosie and yells "YOU'RE NEXT B1TCH!" "I'LL DO THE SAME SH1T TO YOU!". He got loud Steiner sucks chants just on the apron at one point too. And this is Scott Steiner in December 03.

A lot of this stuff was better than the IWC remembers. Kane post unmasking til the Taker match was such a beast.

Hogan winning right away built the Sting match better though.

They had him wrestle Macho a lot after Hogan, but I can't remember anything they did storyline wise. Both guys were having career resurgences and in late 97, them feuding should've been better than it was. They mightve needed more screen time and a better storyline.

Oh my god, this shyt would never end and got dumber by the week. It already started with a baseline of a D- because it involved JJ but it went on for EVER. One of my least favorite wcw storylines of all time.

Literally every week for 4 months was Mongo and JJ having a miscommunication in a match, almost fighting, then teaming up next week to do it again. Sometimes they WOULD actually fight, but still team up next week anyway. Then Debra turns on Mongo and every week for the next few months is Mongo interfering in every Jeff match, and Jeff/Debra cutting the same promo almost word for word on Mongo. It's fukking interminable. Just like the 2 years of Benoit vs Sullivan.
