Last Battle of Atlanta was dope. The whole video is about 28 minutes long. Tommy Rich and Sawyer have a bloody brawl, very bloody and then Ole and Ellering have a bloody brawl straight after. Then fukkin

Jake Roberts :russ: :russ:

shows up outta nowhere and beats the fukk out of Ole Anderson lol. This was some good old school shyt. It's amazing that WWE finally found the tape of it. Most people thought a copy ain't exist so the hype grew for 30 years.

Hype that definitely was never going to be lived up to. It's just a normal bloody ass cage match. Weird that it had such a huge legend around it. The Ole/Ellering part was better than the Rich/Sawyer part.

On the other hand, you got Lou Thesz throwing powerbombs in 1951 (last fall was thrown out due to a "dislocated vertebrae" from the move :russ:) and Bob Backlund continuing to have one of the nastiest piledrivers ever (as Harley had the biggest beer gut of his life) and proving forever that he definitely was not hated or unover like history has been rewritten to show. Some of the spots and near falls in Harley/Bob are the loudest reactions I think I've ever heard in MSG.

I'm going to catch up some of the rest of it later, but man was I salty when I went to watch Dory/Kiniski and found it was an 8 minute clip, probably 5 minutes of the actual match. At that point, why bother? Surely there were actual long Dory title matches they have in their vault.

People that are really into archive footage and "holy grail" type of stuff take whatever they can get. Dory vs Kiniski not being in full sucks (as well as no third fall for the Thesz match) but it's still historical footage that's worth putting it out there for the public, and it's not as if it was promoted as the whole match was going to be shown.

We have no clue how much dope stuff they have in full. Last Battle of Atlanta was converted like 2-3 years ago and was just out there in a "Omni Live Event" reel, and they supposedly have more Omni stuff. shyt, at this point they might even have Flair vs Backlund from 82' and are just sitting on it. It sucks that Rob Naylor got fired, him getting a job at WWE's HQ and pulling out historic shyt for the Network would be dope. I still can't believe they haven't upped the Bret vs Magee match.

The Bret vs Austin match really good imo, another match that I have no clue why they didn't release sooner on the dozens of DVDs they've made of those two.

Well the third fall for Lou/Ray didn't happen because of the powerbomb being sold, not because the footage didn't exist. A 5 minute clip of "lost footage" is whatever. That's just a cocktease more than anything. And since you can find more of that Dory/Kiniski match on Youtube than what was shown on the Network clip, it's not like they're unearthing this never before seen footage. Then you have the Kane/Taker match, which is also clipped to shyt (not that it would have mattered, since 90s Taker was terrible anyway and even clipped the match is boring).

It's sad how little Lou Thesz footage they own, but there is so much shyt from the 60s and 70s they aired on 24/7, so they had to be cleaned up and digitized to some degree, yet almost none of it has made it to the Network. Content is king, and there is literally no reason to not upload stuff to the Network that they already digitized and aired on other platforms. There was a ton more AWA stuff that was on 24/7 as well that has yet to make it to the Network.

I was wrong about 1999 WCW. Sure it dropped in quality from the previous years and wasn't fukking with WWF but it was still a solid show up to the point I am now which is August.

I've been very, very slowly going through the Invasion for the site. I mean, I got to KOTR and the Raw in MSG after and it's been like 2 months since I got back to the project. So Vince comes out on SD talking about how MSG is forever tainted by WCW's stench. Then Linda comes out and the whole thing becomes about their divorce and relationship, and Linda basically forcing Vince to allow WCW matches on WWF TV and the challenging his manhood until he agreed to the Invasion PPV.

Everything is so backwards right from the start. WCW are portrayed as the faces, despite having been labeled the enemy and terrible for years, while WWF is portrayed as the heels basically just because of Vince. From day one, it was a McMahon family drama, with Shane stealing WCW from Vince, then Vince making sure Shane couldn't get any cable shows to show WCW. Then Linda gets involved for no apparent reason whatsoever other than to fukk with Vince because she was still hot at him. It's so lol. What I really want is the C shows like Heat/Jakked/Metal so I can see all the lower card WCW guys that barely got any screen time on Raw/SD. Chuck Palumbo might have been fukked more than any individual WCW guy with the buyout. He would have been a headlining star for years in WCW :damn:

And of course they did my boy Kanyon so god damn dirty :shaq2:
