Even tho it's been a known fact that wresting is a work since the very beginning, it's something about the way it was presented back then that made it so much more authentic and believable that it still had a level of mystique about it that was easily comparable to REAL competitive sports. And I'm not even just talking about just the characters that were believable but just the whole atmosphere in general. I found it amazing that If you watch this match and look in the crowd you will see it's dominated by mostly people in their mid 20's-early 30's and way older, that says a TON about how wrestling was viewed back then.
