Chris Benoit the WRESTLER, was never going to be charismatic. It's not his character. But it's what made him great. He was no non-sense, come to the ring and WRESTLE. He wasn't going to showboat to fans, or pose on the turn buckles for cheers, he wasn't in that mold.

But that had nothing to do with him being or not being champion.

Benoit was world champ in an era where Vince was still supremely biased against little guys.

Benoit as a wrestling character was super intense. That intensity was his charisma so to speak.

Everybody is not gonna be hulking it up like hogan or jabber jawing like the Rock.

Guys like Benoit and Bret etc, they weren't made to be "characters". To a lesser extent the same with Lance Storm. When they tried to make him say certain things, it came off as funny bc it's not who he was.

Benoit would've never been singing like Angle or telling jokes like Jericho.

Charisma or no, I could watch Ultimo Dragon vs. Malenko all day.

Owen vs. Bulldog for the 1st European title on Raw match was incredible. Classic match.

DDP has 2 top 5 Nitro moments ever. Putting on the NWO shirt then hitting Hall with the diamond cutter and beating Savage disguised as La Parka.

Why in the fukk did WCW give Prince Iaukea a belt in 97? It was just the TV belt but still, dude was a Saturday night borderline jobber and they gave him that mini-push when their roster was full of better and more deserving wrestlers.

Bruh what are you even talking about. Yes Bret Hart wasn’t the best promo and has a super dry delivery but to say dude wasn’t charismatic is nuts. And Benoit went plenty far. You act like you’re talking about Lance Storm or something
