Wrestlemania XIX still mad underrated.

How did old ass Hogan and Vince put on a crazy good match.
Word. Top to Bottom, one of the greatest Mania’s ever. Right in the heart of the Ruthless Aggression era. Just look at the names on the card. There was a legit 3 or 4 top tier main event caliber matches that could’ve went on last. All with great builds. What other Mania card can make that claim?

I don’t know. I wasn’t really watching around that time. They couldn’t find a better top heel than him though? I just found nothing interesting about JBL. He was just okay in the ring. When I look at old Acolytes matches I forget what he became. Maybe the most inexplicable rise to world champion I’ve ever seen. Edge is up there too.

Edge was gonna happen somehow... it just didn't happen the way they thought it was going to. As a babyface, he was only gettin' so far. In '04 they tried to cast him as the guy who was gonna run thru Evolution one at a time, which meant he was obviously gonna end with beatin' HHH... but that shyt died when fans started booing him. But that heel turn tho'... not gonna lie, once they put him with Lita and the real-life shyt with Matt, he definitely took that heel run by the horns. He was on fire between '06-'08.

Far as JBL... I think he's somebody they always tried to push but nothing clicked until A.P.A... even whenthey would separate, he would get a singles push that wouldn't go anywhere. Then they did the JBL gimmick and it worked with Eddie's help.

Yeah they tried hard with Bradshaw in 2002, having him be paired with Austin and then attempting to just have him replace Austin in the NWO stuff, but I wouldn't even say it flopped as much as there was just no reaction to it at all. Dude went from teaming with and doing segments with Austin to hardcore matches on Heat within like 3 weeks.

no reaction = flopped
Those Raw's when Ric Flair was kayfabe owner :scust:

They did those tag matches with him and Ausin for a few weeks straight. Even put him in a PPV match against Scott Hall right before he got fired.

Was WM 20 the first one where they started pointing at the banner like a year away from it?

I say that because it minimized the results of 19 and didn't let the outcomes marinate.

On the other end, WM18 had possibly the biggest crowd reactions ever and the whole show became about Hogan/Rock match.

Jericho almost broke his damn neck at Halloween Havoc 97 trying to do a top rope hurricanrana....

How Macho man didn't end up with 2 broken legs after jumping off the top of the cage with NOBODY to break his fall since either he over estimated how far he could jump or Piper/Hogan wasn't in the right place for Macho to do it, just pure cringe.

He did blow out his knee though. That caused the knee injury that eventually led to him missing about a year from surgery and coming back in 1999 on all the gas and having that all time worst feud with with Nash. It was basically the beginning of the end of his career. Dude in his mid 40s jumping off of a cage that high even if there were people to break his fall :what:
