Watching WWF from late 96 to Mania 97 and I have to say I'm enjoying it a little bit more than when I watched WCW from that some time period a few months back.

I'm loving Austin's heel run. Much more enjoyable than the goofy shyt he was on back in 01 when he was a heel with the Alliance.

Fans were still messing with Bret Hart I thought he would have been getting some mixed reactions, but I didn't notice any of that until his rant at Raw/heel turn at WM 13.

I'm digging the Ahmed Johnson/NOD feud. More dope than I remember...... actually kind of funny the way Ron used to get at Ahmed :russ:

I was always amazed at how over Sid was in the WWF.

I think the fans around that time wanted the British bulldog to turn face and they were teasing it.

Anyway interesting stuff seeing them transition to the Attitude era.

Why in the hell did they take the strap off Eddie Guerrero and give it to that flabby bum JBL?

I think the rationale was Smackdown really needed a top level heel and only Eddie could catapult JBL to that spot. It wasn't a "oh Eddie's not drawing as champion" thing, but that's how Eddie took it anyway. I also doubt Eddie was ever going to be a long term champion anyway, since Benoit dropped his title at around the same time, too.

I don’t know. I wasn’t really watching around that time. They couldn’t find a better top heel than him though? I just found nothing interesting about JBL. He was just okay in the ring. When I look at old Acolytes matches I forget what he became. Maybe the most inexplicable rise to world champion I’ve ever seen. Edge is up there too.

I couldnt stand him
Wen he first went solo and then wen he got that fukkin rob zombie theme
I hated that shyt too, but he actually became one of my favorites when he turned full scumbag and became the creep that ruined matt hardy's life. The rated R superstar before wwe ruined it and had him making out with Vicki Guerrero

Been watching "Best of Yokozuna", having a few beers

Mans really beat the Hulkster out of WWF but couldn't beat food addiction and fell off just as quick :wow:

Also against Taker at Survivor Series 94 they keep showing Paul Bearer's screaming reflection in the urn and it got me all

JBL was an all time corporate ass kisser, and it paid off for him
