Man i just miss the legitimacy of how WCW presented their product. shyt felt like a legit sport, and 90% of that was the announcers.
I get WCW was face heavy but nobody was trying to boo DDP. He did a hell of a job getting them to though and putting him with Bam Bam helped.
Hogan wanted to be a cool face/heelDDP's heel turn in 1999 was terrible. He literally had no reason for his turn. He was out for a few weeks after Steiner beat his ass, then he came back and was heel with no explanation. And once he turned heel, he reverted to what was good as a heel...in 1986.
Bret was out hurt with a groin pull the likes of which you've never seenHogan wanted to be a cool face/heel
He did good with what he had to work with. I believe Sting, Goldberg, and DDP never should've went heel but once Hogan & Nash wanted to jump back on the cool babyface bandwagon it really just left Flair and Bret(and i got no idea what he was doing at the top of 99) on the heel side.
Then Nash ended up turning 4 more times or some shyt![]()
Imo, Tony Schiavone is the best announcer ever. Dude sold everything with 100% conviction no matter how terrible it was. Even JR can't claim that, as he'd make it pretty clear when he was not enthused with shyt. My recaps of all Nitro/Thunders led me for a profound appreciation of Tony, which only grew when hearing him call shows that were actually good.
not even Tony Schiavone would believe this![]()
