I watched the Bret doc and..

I think Bret is lying when he says that he knew his career was over and he knew they wouldn't do right by him when he signed with WCW because if he knew why would he go there just to be sabotaged? Bret had too much pride and dignity to sign with WCW strictly for the money, I always feel he is speaking in hindsight when he says that. He thought he was gonna go to WCW and put them over the top and have the last laugh over Vince by being the main catalyst in putting WWE out of business.

Bret never wanted to leave in the first place. He signed a 20 year lifetime contract with them despite WCW luring Big money around his wayand was happy where he was at. But during the summer of 97 WCW started pulling away and putting footprints on their neck and Vince couldn't no longer afford to honor it because he was in what he was "financial turmoil"

Vince really didn't wanna let him go but it is what it is, Doesn't help matters that HBK and HHH were in his ear dictating everything.

So Bischoff was smart enough to have Luger jump ship the night after his contract expired, but not the hottest commidity in wrestling. Bret wouldnt have had to wrestle, but at least cut a promo against Vince and stake his position in WCW.

I honestly think Hogan played a lot in that, what in any world did Bret joining the nWo make any fukking sense?

Watching the Bret Hart episode on Monday Night War and it is a painfully WWE biased piece. No mention of Bret turning down WCW to stay loyal to WCW, no mention on WWE subtly turning on Bret shortly after that, no mention in detail of all Shawn's dikkery, no mention of creative control, no mention of a lot of things. WWE can be a fukking joke.

So the timeline of events kinda go

Bret drops the belt to Shawn clean at Wrestlemania 12
Bret gets offered 3 million a year over 3 years from WCW and turns it down for a lot less to be loyal to Vince since the WWF was on it's deathbed
Bret Comes back with the intention of working with Steve Austin and having a rematch with Michaels, where HBK returns the favor from the previous year
HBK fakes an injury and does not drop the belt to Bret
Vince tells Bret he can't honor the contract he JUST gave him, going back on his word.
Bret gets a deal from WCW
Bret is willing to drop the belt to ANYONE but HBK and anywhere BUT Canada
Vince, HBK, Hebner, Brisco, screw Bret
Eric Bischoff DOES NOT have Bret on Nitro the very next night to cut the shoot promo of all shoot promos LIVE
WCW does not capitalize on Bret's heat with HBK and Nash being his best friend, THAT should have been Bret's 1st feud in WCW
Vince starts Stone Cold's push as the man
HBK sees the writing on the wall and attempts to fake another injury so not to drop the belt at Wrestlemania....again
Undertaker tapes dem fists
The Austin Era has begun.
