Bruce Pritchard appeared on Flair's latest podcast and revealed who Vince originally wanted in 1990 as the anti-American, pro-Iraqi mega heel before Sgt. Slaughter got the gig.

"Al-Kaissie (General Adnan) was actually a childhood friend of Saadam Hussien in Iraq. The idea was to use Adnan, take a redhot babyface and turn him into a redhot heel, and this megaheel who was supposed to go to Wrestlemania 7 and fill 107,000 seats was...Tugboat. He was gonna put the thing on his head and be "Sheik Tugboat".

"This is will be great! GAWD HE'S HUGE, THOSE ARMS! They'll be believe it!" :vkmac:

:mjlol: @ 'The Sheikmaster' being considered for a title run.

Top 20 Things You Didn't Know About D-Generation X

As a group, D-Generation X was incredibly popular and one of the major acts of the Attitude Era. Within that group, The New Age Outlaws were even more popular. The WWE has stated that Road Dogg and Billy Gunn were considered the most popular duo of the era. The merchandise sales back that up, as they were the third best seller of merch, only trailing Stone Cold Steve Austin and the Rock. That’s pretty impressive company.

I've said this before. The new age outlaws made dx popular...more so road dog. I was gonna make this thread, but go back and watch HHH during the hbk lead dx. he SUCKED and was boring. if they hadn't got xpac to come in, or added the outlaws....he would have been in mid card purgatory

Triple H was always boring. He was just big and knew how to wrestle.

I watched the attitude era and don't remember looking forward to any Triple H matches.
I remember loving X-Pac
I remember Road Dogg thinking he could rap and having cornrows and braids
I remember Billy Gunn
and of course HBK
even Chyna had more of a gimmick than Triple H

Now Triple H is trying to rewrite history making himself out to be on the level of Rocky or Stone Cold. :camby:
I will give Triple H this, he wrestled a lot. He defended the title on TV and always was there to wrestle, none of that part time shyt. But he wasn't that entertaining and I'm pretty sure right now this is the first legit time people were excited he won the Belt, only because fans aren't feeling Roman Reigns.

just look at this non-reaction to Triple H winning the title.

“Wrestling has treated me very well,” Angle said. “I had a great time in WWE, I had a great time in TNA. I’m very proud of my accomplishments, but I’m at a point in my life where, right now, family is more important, and it’s time for me to spend more time with them. I’m gonna take a break from wrestling, I know that for sure, at least a year. So we’ll see how it goes and I’ll go from there. I’m not gonna say I’m gonna retire. I am pretty much done with TNA. Not sure, maybe down the road, maybe I might come back, but most likely I probably won’t, because there’s a chance that I might not wrestle again. I just wanna get a feeler this year and see what I wanna do and see where I wanna go.”

He's basically saying "I want one more run in the WWE next year"
