actually punk's moveset and striking are as close to stiff muay thai influenced shoot style accurrate as you can get with wwe moveset limitations.

i enjoy seeing his looks stiff but is gentle execution.

namely his stero loud kicks, his enfamous knee to bulldog and slingshot springboard clothesline.

those are the good things about punk. as he actually makes the moves as close to authentically stiff as you can get in a wwe ring.

whereas most wwe performers are so neutered. it looks like they are pawing one another, most of the time.



i just don't see how you do not find his mic skills great.
nobody can recreate duhtay, and nobody can recreate flair.

yet, punk is the what if muay thai trained version of steve corrino and mike sanders, rolled into one.
that could work inring but better on the mic with hof inring psychology.

coupled with a sound stiff moveset and workrate that is as close to authentic striking wise.

you will get from a wwe performer.



if people praise hbk on the mic and his charisma.

which i personally never thought was great.

then i think punk definately, is naturally more charismatic and funnier than hbk.

with a higher level of keen psychological wit and personality inring.

who is of the same height, ilk and build as a performer.

minus the roids, to blow up his physique.

if, we straight up compared punk to hbk.

plus he has more classic matches, and ramped up faster than hbk, as a singles/tag performer.
nor is phil as overrated as hbk either.

which is more based on the gateway aesthetics of hbk's fanbase.
those hbk stans do not have an actual full knowledge of the history of wrasslin.
[most of hbk's fan picking him because of gateway aesthetics. are as delussional as if i said hulk hogun was the highest quality wrassler inring, of all time. all because he was my gateway entry into watching wrasslin]



when it comes to punk.

punk was one of the few great questionmark to next sureshot original indy talents.

that worked his way up with a high all around quality grassroots movement.

not a political campaign of bullshyt hazing and gamesmanship.

i think maybe you were not familiar with this grassroots rise to stardom.

so you are judging his talents with severe scrutiny.

after he arrived to the big dance.
which is the wrong way to go about it.

what i urge you to do is possibly go look up his ascension. then understand his series in his career.

then maybe you will appreciate what he does and how limited he is, and still produces high quality work.

I'm not saying he is a bum but he is not anywhere near what his fans and the IWC made him up to be. And giving him props with the caveat of comparing him to the sorry state of the current WWE roster pretty much makes my point. He looks better than he actually is because he is surrounded by garbage.
And I have never considered Shaun Michaels to be good on the mic at all.

Do you recognize that you tend to create arguments out of whole cloth sometimes? Just asking because I never demeaned ROH or TNA.
I said I watched his ROH and TNA stuff in response to you suggesting I seek them out to become illuminated by Punk's awesomeness.
My calling the WWE roster garbage was in response to you claiming that Punk's style is extra impressive when compared to the limited style of the other dudes in WWE.
Rudimentary reading comprehension is a hell of a skill to have.
Look homie, the fact of the matter is I think Punk is an overrated dude and am not impressed by him to the extent that you are. That has nothing to do with my understanding of his work rate or anything else. He isn't as bad as a Mulkey Brother but as far as I am concerned he is nothing special either.
