If you told me this theme came from an 80's porno where some hairy mustached guy is pile driving some blonde with white high heels I'd believe it:yeshrug:

Theme is just:blessed:
Never made the connection until now, but it sounds like they were doing a ZZ Top knockoff with this theme.

Never knew that people hated lex luger until I got on the internet.

To me he's alright. The torture rack is still one of my favorite submission holds and I thought he improved personality wise towards the end of wcw.

Imma give him a solid 6.

He was one of the first wrestlers I watched on TV when I started watching during the New Generation era. I wasn't really a fan of his until his WCW run, especially when he joined the Wolfpac. Even had his figures. The Torture Rack was top 5 status back when we would wrestle as kids. :banderas: In retrospect, he was pretty corny and didn't fit in the Red and Black, but hey, it was the 90s. Case in point, Luger in FUBU :dead:

I can't really think of any classic matches he's had, but he was decent for a roidhead. Perhaps I should check out his older stuff, that's why I love these threads. Keep 'em coming, @mrken12 :obama:

I'd give him a 6, but him making Bret tap twice and killing Miss Elizabeth deducted a point :troll: Nah, but honestly, I know TSC shyts on him, myself definitely included, but he wasn't WOAT status.

Overall, I give him a 5 :manny:

I gave Lex a 7. I think he sometimes gets unfairly judged cause he failed as "The Guy" in WWF. But he had dope finishers with the torture-Rack and the steel plate lariat. He could play a beliveable Babyface and was even better heel.

I think he should never be a top face or heel cause his promos were just average but he could be a serviceable in the 2nd or 3rd spot up from the top.

Lex is the most underrated wrestler of the last 40 years. He had classic matches, a great physique, and he could draw money. But people talk about him like he was a joke. In terms of in ring ability he was miles ahead of guy like Warrior, but he gets praised as a being legend. Most people only focus on his WWE run where he was horribly mismanaged. When you look at his entire body of work he's legendary status. If you were creating a DVD box set of Lex's best matches it would be better than a lot of people's.

The reason most people dislike him is because he flopped in the WWE. If his best years were in the WWE he'd be much more revered today. I'd put Luger's run from 87-89 against anybody else's in the business. Everything about it from the storytelling to Lex's great character and in ring work was masterful.

Let's not get too crazy here. He was certainly underrated. He was certainly not an all time great, either. His 87-89 run was good, certainly better than pretty much the rest of his career combined, but he wasn't even a top 10 guy in JCP during that run, which was absolutely stacked. Never mind what was going on in other parts of the country and Japan.

The thing about the Lex Express shyt is that it actually did work. Lex was over as fukk. It's just that business was down across the board in America and no one was going to pull it back up. Crowd reactions for Lex were huge in 1993. People also need to consider who he was working with at the time. Yokozuna was boring as fukk. No one got good matches out of him except in 2 minute squash matches. Bret couldn't get a decent match out of him. Possibly PEAK Bret Hart. HBK couldn't get a good match out of him. Certainly worst period Taker couldn't get shyt out of him. Yet we're expecting Lex Luger to be the one to have great matches with Yoko or Ludvig Borga?

6-6.5. He was a pretty basic wrestler for as long as I saw him, but had a cool finisher for the time. I don't ever remember him having a classic match, maybe he did while he teamed with Sting, but I just can't pinpoint anything concrete. Though I wasn't really a fan of his, he was a very identifiable face for the majority of his career, he was super over at one point both during the "Lex Express" period, and I do remember being very hyped for him making Hogan tap to win the WCW World title (even though he lost it, what, 4 days later:martin:???). Thought it was silly for him to join NWO Wolfpac (though the NWO splitting off in general was stupid) being that he was a popular face at the time, but I did like when he re-invented himself as The Total Package, even though it really didn't lead to much afterwards. Thought I'd have more to say about him, but I guess that reflects my interest in him. Even as a kid, I just didn't care much for him other than him being a face. There were simply other faces I preferred whenever he was around. I remember him being able to talk, but I can't remember one notable promo from him. His best promo was probably when he returned to WCW in 95 and just stood there in that white blouse.

His Narcissist gimmick :scust:that's the generic CAW gimmick companies lazily have handed out ever since Luger used it. 6-6.5 is all I can give a guy who was never a truly a #1 face, never a #1 heel, no notable promos, nor any truly standout matches. There were always better/more appealing faces along side of him.

When read title off bat thought 7 but I'm going with a 6. Wasnt even bornhis early NWA/WcW run, narcissist gimmick seemed like a decent mid card heel role. But they gave him the greenlight Lex Express push and couldn't even get a title run.

He was white hot for that brief moment and that Nitro championship with Hoegan over his shoulders was infamous , can't deny that. Was a formidable upper card Face and was solid in that role.

His mic skills/promo was one of the worst out of Main eventers during that 97-99 period, sub par if that in the ring and got By with his physique ,pause.

Tad Bit above average overall.
