An 8 based on consistency, a GOAT (re)debut, being the perfect complementary tag partner for seemingly everyone, being an easily identifiable character through many eras, and being very well rounded when it comes to gimmicks and story-lines. He's turned a lot of shyt into at least entertaining stuff. Can't tell you any classic matches he's had, but he's been apart of various entertaining angles. Kane from 97-01 was GOAT worthy. Dude could move fairly well for a big man, great theme, attire and could get his point across simply through his presence. Loved when he returned with new attire in 2002, but completely hated him doing the spinnarooni and being all happy and shyt. People were expecting a monster and the crowd responded in kind. His mask being removed was both good and bad. Good because it allowed him to do more emoting as he's great with facial expressions and stuff (just like Abyss as Joseph Park), and was a very believable psychopath, but it was bad cause it kinda humanized him and made him more vulnerable. Katie Vick was trash obviously, but that should be blamed more on HHH and Steph more than him. The Matt Hardy feud was meh but that was another feud where he turned something that sucked into something at least distinctive.Seeing him in an all white suit for Lita's wedding was
mid 2004 up until he finally won the title again in 2010 (which had an amazing 13 year wrap-up story-line) is why I can't bump him higher, cause he was apart of some atrocious feuds and story-lines that even he couldn't do anything with, on top of him being bloated as shyt in 2006. Snistky, Khali, Luke Gallows as the Kane clone, and teaming with Big Show who was pretty directionless himself at the time were very bad. I'll give him props for the MVP feud though cause that was the first feud that helped MVP not be taken as a joke. Loved him getting a run with the WHC cause he deserved it after years of making the best of shytty feuds, and he also whipped himself back into shape, even if most of those matches were crappy. Liked Kane returning under the mask once again, even though it was a pretty lame mask/attire set-up, and launched some of the worst and most unintentionally funny feuds with John Cena and Zack Ryder. Team Hell No was also GOAT worthy though, as him and Brian had excellent chemistry and the crowd loved them. They were extremely every week until the WWE pulled a TNA/WCW and stretched it out too long and couldn't figure out when to end it.
I clearly think highly of Kane since I typed all this. Dude was very entertaining throughout his character, had notable feuds (X-Pac is probably my fave, along with Team Hell No, 2010 vs Rey, '97/'98 Taker, setting JR on fire in 03, and even HurriKane), and was highly visible throughout his career. You also never heard anything bad backstage as far as him not wanting to put people over and putting himself on a pedestal (unlike Undertaker). He also had a Derek Jeter-like roster of women throughout his career
