Mic work/promos: 6

When he started out as Diesel in the WWE, he was AWFUL. When he went to WCW, he got better but still was :ld:. He was above average but he had his moments. But he used so many insider terms so he must be cool. :skip:

Personality/gimmicks: 7

He definitely found his niche in WCW but constantly breaking the 4th wall got corny pretty quickly. Russo is partly to blame but Nash did that even when Russo wasn't around. Nash had some pretty good comedic moments and had great chemistry with Scott Hall.

Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds): 4

His only "great" matches were with Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels in their prime. :mjlol: at people saying that he could go in the ring. Nash has even admitted himself that he takes an apathetic approach to many of his matches. He's a businessman, he's not trying to be lyrical. :troll:

Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores): 6

When people talk about guys who were marks for themselves, Nash is extremely high on the list. He's the perfect example of how being friends with the right people and having the right "look" can elevate your career to ridiculous levels. Being friends with Shawn Michaels and working with Hogan during his legendary heel turn are some examples.

We also can't forget his ridiculous comments about "midgets" and putting down great wrestlers like Chris Jericho and Eddie Guerrero. As Diesel, he will always be known as the worst WWE Champion in history. Once WCW closed down, he was phoning it in more than usual in his subsequent WWE runs and TNA. Nash would be considered more of a great businessman than a great wrestler.

Giving him an 8 that's rounded up from a 7.5. Not a GOAT big man for me, but he was a founding member of a GOAT faction, had identifiable characters in multiple eras, could talk, was loaded with charisma, and had a cool factor that a lot of other top guys lacked, especially top guys today:sas1:. He was probably one of the first "cool heels". Had a GOAT finisher as well. A Powerbomb from a legit 7 foot dude is lethal no matter what. Besides his matches with HBK and Bret Hart, I can't really tell you any classics he's ever had, but he has been apart of good matches and classic moments in general, and those are often times more notable than classic matches. What makes me give him a rounded up 8 instead of a high 9 is being taken out with injuries multiple times, and the bad decisions he made while in WCW. NWO was both the greatest thing ever....and the worst thing ever. It injected life into wrestling at a time it badly needed it, and lit the match to put it in the comatose state it's in today. The NWO went from being a cool evolutionary crew to a bloated boring ass crew with various not needed members. Guaranteed contracts was a smart concept on his part individually, but that also led to greed and the bombing of the eventual Invasion story-line, and death of WCW in general. Him and other high paid guys in WCW created a cancerous atmosphere that basically drove WCW into the ground.

He had a pretty entertaining TNA stint, both on commentary and during the X-Division feud with Chris Sabin and Alex Shelly. Thought it was really cool how he was a surprise RR entry in 2011 as Diesel, but when he came back in the ensuing weeks as simply Kevin Nash, that novelty wore off swiftly, and CM Punk totally embarrassed him. Don't even get me started on his match with HHH. That entire feud involving them was WOAT status. Damn near makes me want to drop him to a 6, but I'll just reflect on the positive and leave him as an 8.

Scott Hall > Kevin Nash to btw.

Forgot about this. :scust: The term "vanilla midget" was way too ahead of its time. Guys like Eddie, Y2J, Benoit, Rey, etc. may have been short, but there was NOTHING vanilla about them. The term perfectly describes dudes like M-Dogg 20, Richie Richards, Matt Sydal, TJ Perkis, O'Spreay, etc. whose style plagues wrestling nowadays.

Strong 7 for me.

Nash is the epitome of a big man done right:dame:, He has the charisma, the tolerable moveset, and a ok worker when he wants to be:francis:. His earlier wrestling days were what they were like any other wrestler. His Diesel days were alright, to shyt (title reign), to dope (his heel turn/off to WCW run). When he came back to WCW...whooo boy:blessed::wow:. Nash finally got his mojo back with Scott Hall coming through to crush the buildings. Bottom line, Nash is one of those wrestlers that works better as himself and not a gimmick.

Personal favorite of mine, he gets a high 9. The only real knocks I have on him are that his WWF/E runs were all mostly lackluster, minus his initial debut up till he won the WWF title, after that then SSeries 95 till his departure. And his 2011 run is best left forgotten. Otherwise, he's always entertained me. Has maybe my favorite variation of the powerbomb, that Jacknife is so fun to watch:

Only dude I ever went out of my way to watch his shoot interviews. His TNA run was even pretty fun and even ended pretty logically. Favorite matches would be Survivor Series 95 with Bret, Good Friends Better Enemies vs. HBK, Mania 12 with Taker, Starrcade with Goldberg. There's some Outsider tags I can't think of rn although the Wolfpac vs. Piper/Flair/Kevin Greene is also great.

None of those guys will ever be main eventers for major companies. They're not even worth complaining about. Who is Richie Richards? :heh:

Solid 8. Underrated by the internet for sure.

Wasn't Chris Benoit, but could hold up his end when needed. Matches with Bret, Shawn and even Taker were solid.

Maybe the only truly big man with charisma and swagger

The tweener diesel after SS95 was pretty unique for the time

Him and Hall are one of the very few who could make the NWO work. Gets big points for that alone.

One of these guys, not sure which. They look like the same CAW in attires #1 and #2.

Sure, not all will be ME status, but it's worth a complaint when tons of wrestlers in various companies adopt their ballerina ass movesets and it's accepted as the new norm.

You were probably thinking of Eddie Edwards. :mjlol:

Guys like Ospreay aren't the norm though. It can't be the norm because Ospreay has had tons of injuries and he's only 24. Working that type of style is going to lead to a short career.

411MANIA | Details on Will Ospreay’s Injury History

Prior to the Best of the Super Junior tournament, there was concern over Will Ospreay having nagging injury issues at the age of 23. According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, here is a breakdown of what Ospreay has been dealing with after four years in the wrestling business…

* He’s has two slipped discs in his back
* Seven concussions
* A shoulder that is prone to separation
* Two fractured heels
* Sciatica that is causing numbness in his foot

--------------------------------------------------------------

All of that in just 4 years. :merchant:
