The first couple of minutes :picard: that honestly of realizing he’s not doing anything at all currently.

Also, it lets you know that if the WWE wants to push you and put you in a great position, they will go to the ends of the earth to do it. Shelton very well could have been given the ball just like they did Jinder when he went away and came back and Drew McIntyre currently.

Coming back to this, a good chunk of this was a rough watch. Shelton clearly wants to do more than what he’s been doing, but unlike Jinder and McIntyre, the WWE never planned on pushing him in any way. Hell, Shelton didn’t even get Lashley’s latter booking, that despite the actual storyline, was able to constantly be on tv, and still won the IC title beforehand. The WWE 100% re-signed Shelton to eat pins.

In your opinion what does Orton do better than Benjamin besides mic work?
He has a more defined character that he can incorporate into his ring work. Randy can play spoiled 3rd gen wrestler 20 years ago and fast forward he could play the unhinged on demon time psycho that he is/was in real life.

Shelton never had that. Yeah he was legit and a phenomenal wrestler but he definitely lacked that spark to push his work further.

Charisma wise they’re probably the same, but Shelton was far and away the better and more exciting wrestler. Plus, Swagger was given the chance to [somewhat] be a top guy, basically over exposing him and letting us all see how charisma-deficient he was. Shelton coughing and faking sick during his latter good standard run >>>> any Swagger promo.

I feel like Swagger had more personality when he was on ECW. Him cashing in MITB and winning the title ruined him because they took that personality away. By the time he got it back, it was too late and he just floated around in the mid card for years. Him randomly winning the Elimination Chamber and getting a title match at WrestleMania was the company putting their faith in him again, but then he got caught with weed so I don't know if it was supposed to go anywhere.
