In Ring - HBK is full monty all the way on this...point blank if prime HBK had a bad big time match (regular or gimmick)...chances are it was the opponent's fault for sure...he had too many classics to list he had from the rocker days, the IC run, boyhood dream run, DX era, and ruthless aggression era...great seller/bumper...sweet chin music is over...the fact that a side thrust kick from a 6' 200-225 lb wrestler was a credible finisher in finishing off bigger wrestlers says something...esp since that teardrop suplex he used (beasted with it though in the royal rumble on genesis back in the day
) never really took
Gimmick - Rocker Shawn was over, Heel/Face HBK was over (and had many
moments), DX HBK was most likely life imitating art lol, Jesus Freak HBK was tolerated...he never bombed gimmick wise - full monty
overall - HBK is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time...he was also a real life chickenshyt and got his ass beat legit more often than not...he was an a$$hole that posed for playgirl..almost as much as a politician as HHH is however he was too good in the ring that ppl dont hold that against him...just his fellow wrestlers lol...HBK had he not crushed vertabrae in his back taking a crazy bump on the edge of a coffin against taker would have prolly been a lot bigger than he was..because that was peak HBK and he would have flourished being a foil in feuds to stone cold long term, foley, and maybe the rock (that is if rock thought that was ok because he was the man by 98 and eclipsed hbk completely)..missing out on the attitude era hurt his career although he gave it a hell of a go when he came back in the ruthless aggression era and PG era...give him a 9.5 overall
