I officially became a Jericho fan when I saw that debut live. :blessed:

One of the all-time greatest debuts. My first wrestling shirt was a Jericho shirt and I still wear it today. It was the one with the barbed wire Y2J logo.

I wanted to write something at length, but this basically sums it up (though I gave him a 9). I've always liked that the minute Jericho gets stale, he goes away, re-invents himself and becomes appealing again.

I'll just add that my favorite matches from him at one time or another have been with Rey, Malenko, Eddie, Angle, HBK, Benoit, and CM Punk.

I’d damn near be tempted to say Jericho is my all time fave when you factor everything in if Sting wasn’t what he is to me. .. that’s how highly I think of him.

Chris Jericho is a 10.

Has the promos, matches, longevity, ability to reinvent. Can work any style.

Plus the Jericho won’t go home jokes in TSC are usually hilarious.

I can't give anybody outside of Rock and Austin a 10.

Jericho a 9+ though. Might be my fav all time, can reinvent himself like no other. he was kinda :flabbynsick:

earlier this decade, but he rebounded in a major way. :wow:

His versatility and ability to keep reinventing himself after nearly 30 years in the ring make him as easy a 10 as you’ll find, and that’s not even going into his skills on the mic and in the ring. He also happens to be the only guy to beat both The Rock and Steve Austin on the same night, back to back with no rest. Not sure if you knew that. He’d be invaluable as a top member of creative or as a trainer. I spent 10 minutes shooting shyt with him when he did a book signing for a lions tale back in 2007 and felt like my mind for what makes a character or wrestler great had grown tenfold.

Easy 10 for me.

Listening to Jericho's podcast or watching interviews with him, one thing that becomes clear is that the man is a true student of the game of entertainment. His longevitiy in wrestling, I think, can be linked to his knowledge of music, acting, and comedy. As he ages and the things his body can do becomes more limited, he pulls inspiration from all his various interests and projects and reinvents himself into an new character that is relevant for his current situation.

The immature, cartoonish heel-turned-face "Stupid Idiot" Jericho is perfect for WWE's PG product, while the violent, vulgar "Alpha" Jericho fits comfortably into New Japan. The fact that he played both iterations within months of each other and got fans to accept the transition no problem is a testament to just how good he is.

On top of that, he's still putting on good matches. Nothing really touching what he did in his prime, but we shouldn't expect that of him at this point. Besides, he's put on enough heaters in his day to cover for his ringwork slipping a bit as he ages. And of course, he's always been money on the mic so we don't even need to go into that.

The only thing that would possibly put him below a 10 would be that he never got to sit as "the guy." But that's more on the bookers than Jericho, so yeah. Still a 10 for me.

Sidenote: Holy shyt, it took this long to get to Jericho. *reads pending* We haven't done Rock or Austin yet?!
