With a scale of 1-10 how would you rate The Ultimate Warrior in these categories:

-Mic work/promos - 5
Got over with fans but made no fukking sense

-Personality/gimmicks - 10
You cant create this dude if you tried again in the future. Warrior was truly one of one and was OVER like ROVER.

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds) - 1
He has absolutely zero good in ring matches and HOGAN CARRIED HIM in their match.

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores) - 6

That was my point. CM Punk's character 2-3 years in either direction wouldn't have done as well, either. There are a lot of guys who were big stars that had they shown up 2-3 years before or after wouldn't have had the same impact. Stone Cold or Rock in 1994 wouldn't have meant shyt. Hogan debuting in 1997 WWF wouldn't have meant anything, either. Sometimes, some guys have the right look/character/skills in the right time. Warrior was one of those guys, and he not only was in the right time, but helped define the entire generation.
In either direction from what year?

He had multiple good/great matches, and the idea of Hogan carrying someone being an insult is dumb as shyt, as Hogan carried basically all of his opponents between 1984-1989.

Any year. Do the pipebomb in 2009 or 2013 and it doesn't catch on. Timing is everything in wrestling. To hold right place/right time against someone is crazy.

They fell for his whiny promos.

U know don't know what you're talking about..Rock in the 70s and 80s would of been the biggest heel in any organization. That ttype of mIC manipulation can't be touched historically..just like Jordan cant.

It definitely would have worked in 2009 as that was still part of a tame watered era

1994 is not the 70s or 80s, breh. I said 1994 for a reason.

Because you had nikkas giving him 1/10 as they hated him :dead:

Take away the troll votes and he'd have been closer to 8.5/9 I imagine

Impossible to grade.

As a worker, under 5. Maybe even 1-3. One dimensional, dangerous and genuinely awful at times. By-numbers finisher. Almost zero psychology and story-telling ability within the ropes.

BUT

As a WWF Superstar between 1989 and 1992? 10s on 10s on 10s. Image was spot on. Energy was unparalleled then and now. Promos were so off the fukking wall they ended up becoming legendary. Dude looked like a colossal sculpture from Ancient Greece and I didn't know a single kid in 1990 that didn't want to put the facepaint on and shake every rope they could find.

WMVI main event will probably always be my #1 match.

In ring he was sloppy and limited. Bad bad cardio. I would have to say 5 or 6 there since he was still always able to connect in the ring with the crowd.

Gimmick and promos are a ten easy. He was the epitome of juiced up and coked out 80's wrestling with the bright colors, giant muscles, and nonsensical rambling ranting and raving promos that only the macho man or big poppa pump himself could match in sheer lunacy and intensity, but honestly I think that was a good thing. He was such an over the top embodiment of the era that you couldn't ignore him.

Overall score I would have to say is an 8. A lot of big stars had huge flaws, but ultimately always connected with the crowd.

It absolutely would have worked, CM Punk was doing "pipebomb" type material already during his Jeff Hardy and SES periods.

His good matches were great. However, his regular standard matches were awful.

Luckily his regular standard match was 2 minutes long

It absolutely would have worked, CM Punk was doing "pipebomb" type material already during his Jeff Hardy and SES periods.

And yet he didn't catch on and become a national talking point and be asked to be on ESPN or GMA or whatever during those. And 2 years later when he tried to do a pipebomb type stuff on Taker/Rock/Cena, it made no waves at all.
