Damn. Some of the posts from y’all nikkas got me feeling Kaioken levels of :flabbynsick:. I remember watching episodes of the fight with Raditz in 1996 on WB-Fox (that shyt used to come on real early in the morning). Then watching some of the series again when Cartoon Network picked it up a couple years later.

Nothin but the truth. I used to ask my mama to wake me up on those Saturday mornings before she headed to work. Then the summer of 1998, I had a lil summer job and would catch episodes before I went to work. Then to my surprise, CN officially picked up the series. Even though that shyt was overly edited beyond belief on CN in retrospect :hhh:. DBZ was truly my first time actually following an anime series. Had fam that put me on to Akira (the movie) and Fist of the North Star prior to.

Just dialup internet, geocity sites, aol chatrooms, and pojo.com. I had no idea what the android saga was going to be about but I was just finally glad to get there (feels like they replayed the namek/frieza saga like 3 times before they finally moved on:mjlol::mjcry:). I still remember being blown away when Trunks murked them dudes. I went outside and spent like an hour at the park talking about it with this white kid that lived a few doors down. We were theorizing all kinds of random shyt to explain how Trunks was a super saiyan. I remember thinking it might be a trick/magic:mjlol::mjlol:

The reveal of him being Vegeta and Bulma's jit had me:gucci::dwillhuh:.........:gladbron:

Then after the episode where Trunks revealed he was from the future to Goku, I ran outside to go find that cac so I could have someone to talk to about it:russ:

I couldn't wait to find out what happened after that so I started going on sites like pojo and spoiling shyt for myself....but still that reveal worked its magic the way it was intended to on me:whew:

Special moments like this don't happen any more. :wow:

I'm 11. Walking through the mall with a couple of my friends and as we're walking past my local "Suncoast Motion Picture Company" and there's a big poster with this image on it in the window, saying "coming soon" :feedme: . All of us are fully wrapped up into DBZ at the time, we all are in awe and start speculating on what and who this guy possibly is. We go in the store and ask the employee if he knows, he doesn't even watch the show :stopitslime:. We spent the next 2 hours at the mall and every day for the next couple weeks speculating. My brother is 10 years older than me so I had him get me out of school early on the Tuesday the tapes dropped so I could cop em. Came home and watched all the episodes episodes and had my mind blown :ohhh:. Good times. As someone else said, that was pretty much the end of the innocence for a lot of us. After that, it was too hard to resist searching and spoiling yourself online.

Norfeast groovin…
One of the GOAT moments of my TV watching life. Frankenfrieza and King Cole literally was bout to set shyt off and Goku was nowhere to be found. My breh pull up, says no words, turns Super Saiyan and eliminates them quicker than Goku did. On his debut…:wow:

I swear, Trunks represented for my dawg Future Gohan. By far the trillest character they ever had. I already was a full blown stan but I started writing fanfics after that shyt :banderas:

Trunks was so dope. Dude just showed up and did what he had to do. Not only that he showed up with a dope jacket and a sword and actually used the sword to kill. Even his hair was cool! When he went SSJ/USSJ his hair flared out uniquely too (like original Broly).

Came through with the futuristic hand skills like

Really felt like a status quo change, like you didn't know where things were going next cause this dude came from the future and straight up said that in his future Goku was dead. Think about how daring that is for a series. Trunks was one of the most interesting things to happen to the show.
