Green Berets train indignious populations, official army joint training is typically not done by the Green Berets though, its done formally and openly with training of officers and etc, that is what the premier world dictator school, School of America was for, hell you even see cross training Saudi officers at Maxwell.
The region warrants specialized training and is a hotspot for extremism. It makes more sense especially if you're doing field training to send them out with the Green Berets instead of non JSOC.
You've framed a false argument the entire thread.
Yeah there is no reason for US murder squads to be in any nation, regardless of what excuse you are trying to push to justify their presence.
Keep caping for US sponsered murderers and terrorists.
the thought of america having soldiers here for anything ultimately other than our own self interests is laughableYeah there is no reason for US murder squads to be in any nation, regardless of what excuse you are trying to push to justify their presence.
Keep caping for US sponsered murderers and terrorists.
In this case they were patrolling together with nigerien army personnel in the west/northwest of Niger. Just over the border with north Mali which is infested with Al Qaida and affiliated terrorist groups and hit with terrorist attacks on a daily basis. Whereas Boko Haram is active in the far southeast of Niger. US Special forces have been very discrete to the point we almost forgot their presence compared to the french who consider this whole area their backyard. Let me finish by saying the french are not trusted and hated by some because like elsewhere, in Mali too they play that moderate rebels, terrorist rebels game. While just two weeks ago it was reported the american authorities have denied a visa to a major rebel leader who was(idk if he still is) on a wanted terrorist list.I'm against US interventions in foreign countries, but these Special forces were probably there to fight Boko Haram, you still think its a shame Boko Haram didn't kill the whole squad?
Sadly, we'll probably ramp up our offensive actions against them which will result in their numbers growing. They're saying it is an Isis affiliated group named the Islamic State of the Grand Sahara or something like that who is behind the attack.
They are a for now less strong terrorist group trying to gain ground in the area.
What are they doing in Niger and why??
The US has done plenty of good in Africa. I'm sure if this were China or Russia operating you would have the pom-poms out.
