#1: Those troops already been there LONG before the travel ban. They came into Niger under Obama, not Bush.

#2: Look at the map. The place those soldiers died was as far from Chad as you can get. Chad was fighting Boko Haram on one border, these soldiers were fighting an Al-Queda/Isis offshoot on the other border. Chad was never fighting over there, it's 700 miles from where the Chad soldiers had been working. The pullout by Chad likely had nothing at all to do with this.

That's wild they didn't use any drones to scout the area after hearing of the attack that lured them to the trap.

Let's keep the conversation focused on the real scandals, not the conspiracy crap.

That's an easily verifiable fact, Cali.

U.S. troops started arriving in Niger in 2013. During this time, extremists were on the rise in northwest Africa. The French had intervened in Mali in 2012 when an al-Qaida affiliated group and other tribal groups took control of the northern part of the country. In addition, Boko Haram continued its assault on Nigeria through bombings and killings.

Former President Barack Obama deployed 40 U.S. military personnel to provide support to the French forces. This brought the total number of troops in Niger to 100 in 2013. Since then, the number has grown to 800.

"This deployment will provide support for intelligence collection and will also facilitate intelligence sharing with French forces conducting operations in Mali, and with other partners in the region," Obama said in a letter to the House speaker.

The big picture: Niger and what we know about what happened

I think you guys do not realize how annoying LeBron's entourage is for whatever team he is on. Some people can't take it. Also LeBron pretty much tries to run the teams he is on.

Wrong again. 2005 and 2007 under Bush.

What are you trying to argue? Of course I wouldn't debate that Bush was doing operations and running bases out of various places.

But the current troop placement is due to Obama's buildup there. There wasn't even 1/10th of the troops in Niger that there are today before Obama's buildup in 2013.

Some facts:

Remember when Bush said Saddam was stockpiling Yellow Cake (Uranium Ore) and Valerie Place got exposed as a CIA agent when her husband investigated if the claim was true?

Yeah, that was from Niger.

Niger is 6th in uranium reserves, 4th and uranium production and produces 7.5% of the world's Uranium.

Oh, and the country is unstable.

Its really no wonder why the control of the area is of strategic importance.
