it's 10 years of income based payments, then the balance is forgiven no matter what it is.
A couple of my people are almost done with it, the issue is the documentation and requirements are strict and if you don't follow them to a T, they will stop counting towards your 120 qualifying payments. Like if your request a payment adjustment, they put you on forbearance until they take the 3 months to do the review and issue the change, so those months don't count. Forget to send in you yearly paperwork, they stop counting. But I know a couple people about to have six figure law/grad school balances forgiven in 2 years if trump don't fcuk them over and that's pretty dope.
