This is similar to letter of the law VS spirit of the law. He doesn’t have to literally say he is reinstating segregation. He’s telling companies not to use DEI which on its face just means you look at all qualified applicants and hire whoever is best, regardless of race or sex. But that is truly code for “no one cares if you skip over qualified minorities and only hire Whites”.

All I know is Black folks who are currently employed have lost federal positions, or they are in limbo, and Black folks who are applying for federal positions and now private sector jobs are probably not going to be considered because employers don’t want to be accused of using DEI policies.

thats why it wasnt a good idea to begin with, there was already EEOC in place to prosecute cases where someone was not considered because of ethnicity/gender

but when they added the new policy they created this possibility

its important to understand that the original laws were created for business infractions not changing peoples personal opinions
