Maybe they should have just ignored the whistleblower complaint and not do their duty because Republicans might not convict.

The idea that the impeachment process rests on a possible outcome of the Senate trial is utterly stupid. It's the equivalent of, we're not going to arrest, charge and indict this person for murder because a jury of his peers may decide to not convict.

here's the thing - even if you buy into the way realclearpolitics' is characterizing everything about this whistleblower, even if you're all-in on the smear campaign. so what?
there are many other people who have corroborated the story, shared the same concerns, raised the same issues, even went to fukking lawyers...etc. there's text messages, testimony, evidence, all backing up the complaint he filed. mulvaney's press conference, trump's public statements, the summary of the call...
what the fukk is the difference at this point? other than just to try to drag dude through the mud? shyt, even if that whistleblower was out hitting lines with hunter biden while adam schiff's chief of staff was filming it, it still wouldn't change the fact there is a plethora of people and information that substantiate his claims.
this guy isn't some lone wolf concocting a story out of thin air to try and bring down the president.
