Hard to see some of these candidates staring down someone like Putin, metaphorically or actually.

* Wrong thread

Why are we playing this corny game?

Impeach the mothafukka!

Let the Republicans in the senate do their own homework. The public does not need a million facts to come to a conclusion.
That not how this works breh.

Everyone knows he could be impeached off the call alone. That’s not enough for procedure or precedent.

We knew the layers of the crimes were going to run beyond the surface but everyone kept saying that the Ukraine call was easier for the public to understand and get behind. If you didn't expect the public to follow along before, how do you expect for them to follow along when you start down the Ukraine/Russian oligarch rabbit hole?

The Ukraine call morphed into the Ukraine policy.

The call at first seemed like just Trump asking for foreign assistance in investigating. That morphed into the whistleblower complaint fumble. That morphed into the money being held up. That morphed into how the policy around the Ukraine was setup and run.

It's still narrowing onto Ukraine. The tree just has more roots.

I'm saying the Dems shouldn't try and bring Syria or Barr's Mueller investigation abuse into it.

Trump wouldn't be convicted in the Senate on an Obstruction impeachment article so that doesn't matter.

Maybe. Depends on how desperate his obstruction goes. It's still early days.

The larger point is, if you want as you say an "air tight" case. By definition don't give them options. You either blitz with your front line or don't bother applying pressure.

Reading through the thread I don't see why there is so much ire toward the skeptics. Given how much he's gotten away with so far it's reasonable to believe he would come out of this relatively unscathed.

The flow of damaging information, administration incompetence, Trump meltdowns, close associates being linked to someone nefarious with a slavic last name, the general optimism all remind me of the Mueller thread.

I think the difference this time is that the general populace is getting Trump fatigue. Slowly, ever so slowly, his supporters and the GOP in general are tired of having to defend his crimes. Not tired of the crimes themselves, but tired of hearing about and defending them.

I don't think the base can stomach another "Russia" and the bullshyt is being exposed in real time instead of in an official report that people will want read and interpreted (spun) for them.

I get the skepticism but I feel this scandal might be "the one" in conjunction with his typical blunders. But if this doesn't end his Presidency likely nothing will.

I think people bash the skeptics as a way to vent their own frustrations with the lack of accountability the governing bodies have had against him. People invest a lot of time and effort into gathering information hoping to help change the country and its admirable in all honesty. I just think at the end of the day anything beyond that phone call is just muddying the waters. Eventually his "Impeach him" numbers will go back down and the dems will be too scared to impeach. Im not joking when I say I think Nancy secretly likes him.
As far as his base tiring of defending him, I completely disagree. I think they are in it for the next 5 years and will vote for Don Jr in 2024 if he elected to run. Its a sick, twisted cult he has and they'll never leave. Remember, these are the descendants of the most disgusting people to walk the face of the Earth.
I was hopeful when the phone call news first broke but now I'm just gonna sit back and get ready to motivate people to vote, its obvious the Repubs are bigots and the Dems are too scared to do what's needed. Its on us to vote his ass out.

The most likely scenario is that the House votes to impeach, and while the Senate will be forced to conduct a trial because it's in the constitution (and Mitch said he would do it), Mitch McConnell does a Merrick Garland part 2 and says since it's an election year, he thinks the American public should decide the next President therefore all Senate Republicans vote to keep Trump in office. Then he'll work with Trump and the RNC to put millions of ad dollars in attacks toward Democrats for trying to throw him out of office and why it's another reason Trump should be re-elected.

I think people bash the skeptics as a way to
Because they're annoying. We bash them because they're annoying. No one wants to hear their skepticism because they offer no alternatives outside of the status quo. Bolded for emphasis. They can have whatever opinions they want, and if they choose to post them in this thread so be it. But they seem to be unable to get that having an opinion doesn't mean you're right, playing it safe with your beliefs doesn't make you smart, and castting yourself as the moderate voice of reason doesn't make you a moderate voice of reason.

If people want to return later and gloat that's up to them, but you got dudes with post counts in high double digits posting their same redundant opinions with every break news. They'll continue to get bashed until they realize not every opinion needs to be expressed

I hate your pessimism but I can see this happening because we know how corrupted and rotten the souls of repubs are.

I am not expecting any golden ticket but things that are happening are not good for Trump and the more that keeps getting revealed can and will hopefully and finally seal his fate. Things are different this time.

The thing is now Dems have the control and we don't have to rely on A Mueller to save us we just need the dems to hammer this out. And if they do a good enough job we can sianara his ass.

I've learned my lesson and will never count my eggs before they hatch. None of us should. But we shouldn't count out the explosiveness of this current scandal and situation.
