The whole “Trump strong, Dems weak” trope is bunk and shows lack of knowledge of how the Ukraine matter has progressed.
I think they have been more aggressive than ever handing out subpoenas and working the courts because they actually have something active to bite into. They are floating using arrests to support questioning. They are pursing the admin on multiple points and have the Republicans on their heels at most every turn right now.
Polls have clearly changed even in traditionally conservative leaning outlets ie Fox News.
Has everything been perfect? No. You could posit that the Democrats haven’t been ruthless in the way they need to. But to say they’ve been weak on attacking the Ukraine issue is a lie.

The Senate has nothing to do with them. There’s no political or legal way to influence a Republican controlled Senate to vote in concert with the House unless Trump did something gravely dangerous to the Republicans.
The House was elected in 2018 to do one thing, provide oversight to the executive branch, and that’s what they are doing. Anything else would be a dereliction of duty.
Trump can’t spin it like the Mueller Report because the Russia investigation had no political power. Trump said it himself that impeachment would be hugely damaging.

I think your underestimating what innocent and guilty mean in public perception.
OJ was found not guilty but the public didn’t believe it.
The whole reason the Hunter Biden thing hasn’t taken hold the way Benghazi did is because at the end of the day people like Biden. Everyone hated Hillary to some degree so conspiracies just fed into it.
Trump’s trial in the Senate is basically going to come down to whether he should be punished for a crime. That’s a way different mindset than innocent or guilty. He’s going to be closer to OJ going into 2020.
