Trump told House Republicans that he made Ukraine call because of Perry: report
"The only reason I made the call was because Rick asked me to. Something about an LNG [liquified natural gas] plant," Trump reportedly said.

:dead: No shame.

Unlikely considering that unethical behavior has rarely hurt the GOP in the past. We've gotta stop overestimating American voters... :francis:
We’ve never seen such open corruption and betrayal of the country before. This is the most disliked president in history arguably. An impeachment trial while his party publicly declares they don’t care if he’s guilty is not going to help them. Sure his cult will back him still, but the voters in the middle aren’t going to like that.

It's never trump's fault for anything. Tucker Carlson gets on his ass about the call and all of a sudden the call wasn't his idea. Which doesn't absolve him of making the call nor discussing Biden.

I want to believe it but I remember people saying the same thing in the late 2000s about how the GOP would never recover from supporting Bush and the War in Iraq.

They had one or two somewhat bad elections (2006/2008), started their Tea Party bullshyt, and middle America got right back onboard with Republicans and basically gave them control of most of the government in 2010.

Basically what I'm saying is that a large percentage of the American electorate is stupid/racist and will never change regardless of current events. :yeshrug:

We all know and understand that. The voters on the right want a third Reich style government. They lost their minds over a black guy being elected. The majority of the country is not certifiably insane though, and if the voters are willing to turn out, even the safeguards of the electoral college can’t offset them. Hammer home the message properly and expose as much corruption as possible. It’s that simple. That’s the route to preventing a fascist dictatorship while reducing as much violence as possible.
