Nah, sometimes the truth is just ugly and unpleasant. Trump has spent the last three years getting away with everything, there's just not much reason to think this'll be different. People have heard "This'll bring Trump down" enough times that it's hard to believe.

Be honest with yourself...do you really think any Republican Senators are trying to risk the wrath of MAGA voters?

I'm not even against impeachment really but you're kidding yourself if you think the Senate won't :cape:
I had a post about a hundred pages ago that addressed your mentality.

This impeachment process was never about voting Trump out of office. No party would actually do that t one of their own IMO. But the fact is Trump is a weak reelection candidate and an impeachment (from the House) makes him an weaker one.

If the GOP still wants to connect their name to him during the 2020, they're playing a huge game of poker. I could see a 2008 like shift in the House and Senate next year.

GOP can destroy their brand by staying loyal to Trump if they want. I don't give a fukk :yeshrug:

Hopefully you're right...but I have a pretty low opinion of American voters, so I worry that people will take the Senate's failure to convict as proof that Trump never did anything wrong (and I'm sure he'll constantly be tweeting that). Then again at this point most people have already decided how they feel about Trump so it may not make much difference overall.

I used to feel that way but the last two weeks have really moved the ball. I still don't think they would convict him but that changes by the day. Even if the R's don't convict him I want them on record, I want this to be the poison pill for their whole party.

He's openly blackmailing allies and calling for support from hostile countries to interfere in our election. It's really that straightforward.

I'm less than two years from moving to Europe permanently but I still care about this country, its people, and democracy at large.

Don't give up because things got difficult

I feel like the left is being overly intellectual about this matter when there really isn't anything to discuss.
None of them will vote to remove. It’s still fresh and if I’m not mistaken the worst thing that was said by any Senate R was Romney saying it’s “troubling.” And he lives in the most anti-Trump red state in the country.

They’ve been mostly silent since this dropped a few days ago. Now slowly more and more of them are starting to come out on message taking their cue from Pence that the Biden-Ukraine thing was an honest investigation of state corruption and not a political one. They’re all gonna gradually get on code.

If they vote to remove him they’d get primaried and probably lose.

Congrats on the move to Europe.

You should be skeptical. If Trump gets reelected then you should move from this country as soon as possible.

I'd love to see Trump get impeached and Senators have to explain over
Lol there will not be one single Republican Senate vote for impeachment.
They're also not voting for universal healthcare, workers rights, national Marijuana legalization, withholding aid from Israel or a slew of other things you champion.

What's the difference here?

If you want dems to wield power or take up moral and ethical positions in the legislature this should be a no brainer.

Again, I am for House impeachment. I just don’t think it’ll have the death blow effect to Trump’s presidency some of yall do, and it has the potential to make it stronger.

America lost, basically.

I still can't wrap my mind around the argument some of you keep making that says:

No Republican Senators will vote to remove Trump if impeached, therefore the entire process is pointless.

AND

Trump, armed with foreign election interference, MAGA die-hards, corporate media, The Illuminati, and Prince Lotor's finest robeasts, is an unstoppable juggernaut who has already won re-election, we're just too naive and stupid to realize it.

88m3 made a pretty salient observation a few posts back when he said that some of you seem to be falling over yourselves to explain how and why Trump is impervious to any and everything.

If that's the case, in all seriousness, why are you even in any Trump related discussion threads? If nothing is going to hinder him, what is there to discuss? None of it matters anyway, right?

.@SenRonJohnson tells reporters he tried to get permission from President Donald Trump to tell Ukraine's president U.S. aid was on its way in the wake of allegations Trump was withholding it until Ukraine investigated his political rival.

Johnson said he wasn't successful.

What's even funnier? In the tweet it says Giuliani called out Lutsenko's predecessor, Shokin. But over the weekend, Giuliani DiGenova and Toensing got Shokin to make claims against Biden in a sworn affidavit for their clients case (Firtash). :mjlol:

So in May, Giuliani was pro-Lutsenko and anti-Shokin. Now, he's anti-Lutsenko and pro-Shokin. :dead:
