Probably half the country has wanted Trump out of office from the jump, just off GP. The 43% or so that support him will continue to do so regardless of anything, different impeachment charges wouldn't make a difference. They view him as their last hope of keeping a traditional ( ) America and feel that anything he does in pursuit of that is justified.




It was never realistic to think this would move the needle. There are probably as few undecided voters as any time in recent history...people at this point know whether they fukk with Trump or not.

The Ukraine Biden story broke in September. Well let’s look at Biden’s poll numbers have trended from then til now.

He’s in a worse position now than he was before. I know correlation does not equal causation so I’m not saying Biden is slipping because of Ukraine and I made that clear in the post you quoted.

But it is an indisputable fact that Biden has lost more ground politically than Trump since the story broke. And Biden has a public meltdown every time it’s mentioned to him.

Trump getting removed was never the prevailing sentiment of the thread, but some people did say it, not “no one.” Some said he would resign too.

But mainly every time the needle didn’t move on Trump’s approval rating yall (including you in particular) kept saying give it time, this was gonna happen or that was gonna happen and his numbers would drop.

I strongly believe impeaching him on everything I named earlier would’ve had an impact. Yemen, obstruction, child deaths at the border, Ukraine (and China and Australia), and especially emoluments would’ve moved the needle and significantly damaged him politically.

It may not have lost him much of the MAGA cult but it would’ve made it so no other independent or fence-straddler could’ve possibly wanted to pull the lever for him if done correctly.

The Ukraine thing was destined to be a dud. It’s clear criminal abuse of power, but nobody’s gonna get outraged in defense of their tax dollars going to Ukraine as part of national security state academics’ Russian foreign policy vision and Hunter Biden getting 50k per month to serve on a Ukrainian energy board. The pitchforks were never gonna come out for that.
