He literally making up shyt. He said Biden got hurt but by this more than Trump but his poll numbers haven’t really moved in months.

Almost no one in here said Trump would be removed. No one. The burden of proof is on them.

:sas1: nice find

I don't know...after all the shyt he's said/done over the last three years I'm not sure they even have a sense of embarrassment. :heh:

If people want Trump out of office they have to turn out to vote. In large numbers. Regardless of who wins the primary. I think that's basically what it comes down to...thinking Republicans or their voters will ever change is a fools game IMO.

Democrats need to operate off the assumption that everybody who voted for Trump in 2016 will do so again.
obviously i agree, but we have to assume that a fair amount of moderates arent impressed by this bullshyt at all. trump's cult is only 40% of america

there's enough people that can be swayed. especially if he does some :scusthov: shyt between now and november. gotta be the right democrat that they can stomach voting for

Guess I dreamed all those posts in this thread from about sept-nov.

Also it wasn’t just “not likely” it was zero probability.

You spent Sept-Nov arguing it was a nothing burger.

The counter argument was on the board was - Yes the GOP would acquit, but the aim was to bloody Trump and depressed his numbers, which it has.

So the time comes and what everyone expects happens, and you jump in with the bullshyt "I was right all along" argument, you can appreciate why no one is impressed with your meaningless victory lap.

How you gonna ROFL with a hollow back?
There are a couple of cup half full outcomes of this, as to not completely give up, the first is that this will give Trump voters a completely false sense of security/invincibility. When this happens, and the bubble bursts, and they all become food to reality, they will think that they will be bailed out because they support Trump, lolololololololololololol, that wake up call will be great, and all of us that are reality based can find opportunity in picking them bones clean *pause* talking auction prices on foreclosed homes, cars, jobs, etc..
This is also going to energize the base, all the dog whistling and gas lighting will if anything push the majority further left, the more right they get, the more progressive the base will become, the more glaring the problems this administration creates, the more our base will feel the sense of urgency to act.

They haven't voted yet. Romney is the latest R after Collins to come out in support of impeachment witnesses. Lisa Murkowski has yet to make her decision.

Not sure if they are jumping the gun, but Axios is saying she's voting for witnesses according to the article about Romney

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) has confirmed he will side with Democrats and vote to have witnesses at President Trump's impeachment trial, CNN first reported.

Where it stands: President Trump is likely set for an acquittal as soon as tonight, and it's improbable Romney's announcement make a difference on that front. Democrats would need four Republicans to defect to their side. Romney is the third, after Susan Collins (Maine) and Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) announced they would also vote for witnesses.

What's next: The Senate reconvenes at 1 p.m. today and will begin up to four hours of debate, evenly divided, over the witness vote.

Just my opinion overall:

I think a good majority of the country already knew that Trump wouldn't be removed from office. If this would have been done like 2 yrs ago it could have been a much different story, now we're in a election year. I think some Republicans are really tired of Trump's games but they have to go along with "protocol" or feel the bully raft off Trump. Still doesn't excuse them though.
Republicans leaving things in the hands of voters in November to do what they should have done isn't a smart move b/c they can be removed from their positions as well.

I guarantee the Trump reality TV saga is going to continue with more dirty tactics & another scandal before the election hits.

Trump has done so much BS & damage during his time in office that a lot of ppl who voted for him has jumped shipped. He has fukked over farmers & factory workers, damn near starting WW3, etc., the list is long. Enough is enough.

this is true, big time. that's what's fukkin crazy to me about everyone in the primary thread, "if biden or whoever candidate is the nominee, the base isnt gonna turn out", etc

that's bullshyt. come november, there's not gonna be anyone in america talking about staying home when trump has spent the month leading up acting like a huge piece of shyt

Repubs are spineless pieces of shyt, but Is it completely written off that Roberts could break a tie?

Roberts won't break a tie and I doubt Mitch would put him in a position to do so. He has the votes. Now, Dems need to create their attack ads. The Republicans have given them plenty of ammo. Que Ernst standing in front of the camera smiling like the goofy broad she is as she gloats about how the impeachment hearings are hurting Biden. The Republicans have given so much anti American ad material.
