That may be. But like it has been said multiple times in this thead, it's a winning strategy. Republicans bring it up so much to force democrats to defend an unpopular issue. They have successfully tied transgenders to Democrat party. Republicans take the moral high ground of not letting biological men dominate women in sports, and allow children to make life changing decisions to change their gender. All people with common sense are against those things. 67% of Democrat voters are against them.
So if a Republican brings up the subject, and a Democrat politician ignores it, then the Democrat is painted as being in favor of it by default. If Democrats do what they been doing and just shout "Trans women are women too" Republicans just sit back and smile, knowing they have the winning hand.
So Republicans will play that hand as long as the issue remains unpopular with the majority of voters.
I was raised in a small town growing up. Whenever I go back and hear black people talking politics, the first thing brought up about Democrats is how they defend gays and trannys. If that has become the most identifiable thing about the party to the average voter, then that is a serious flaw.
Naw it's all bullshyt. Bait and hook. No different then racist politicians using black people wanting equality before the civil rights movements to engage white voters. It's all scare tactics and hate. Nothing more, nothing less. Trans people will always exist. Always have. Again. It's a winning strategy for Republicans. I know it's all bullshyt. I have no problems with the existence of transgenders, but personally don't want to see them in women's sports. Even with that, I will vote for Democrats becuse that is more in my best interest as a black man, and someone who supports science and intelligent in general. But I'm a college educated working a white collar job. Of course I won't fall for it.
But the average high school or less educated, blue collar types have fell for it big time. I have an older brother who has been red pilled. He is a high school educated truck driver. He is always talking about how Hollywood and TV is trying to emasculate black men, and believes Democrats are doing the same thing with transgenders. He said that is not something he wants his son exposed to. I ask him what's more likely to occur: your teenage son being sexuallh harassed by a tranny, or your son being pulled over by police and assaulted (or worse) because he has dreads and is driving the nice car you bought for him? In our political debates I stress to him he has to see the big picture and stop focusing on that one issue.
