Oh yeah, what is your biggest gripe? Be specific.
So how does banning publications and freezing funds in the EPA tackle any of these issues? Money that goes towards research and help getting science related to that research out through the media? In the most basic terms, the EPA needs to be pared down to the main goal of environmental protection for human on earth.
The EPA has become too heavily politicized and done too much to steer away from that goal. The fiasco with the Colorado mine spill and then refusing to repay claims on the damages, fining Alaskans for burning wood to stay warm, denying farmers water so there's more for the fish, siding with "protecting" a spotted owl vs. loggers doing their job. Just to name a few.
Not to even get into the massive federal overregulation on US business.

The idea that he is trying to reign in the EPA is foolish. I'm going to assume you have more of a moderate and optimistic view on this move. You're molding it into what you find palatable. However, when put into the context of other things, its hard to be convinced that this isn't about "reducing" rather working towards completely eradicate a department.
Trump is actually very transparent. Its just that his most honest moments get obscured by the whole mountain of bullshyt that surrounds it.
In short, my rational for believing that this is a slowly "starving the beast" tactic instead of a levelheaded reform is this statement by him in the campaign
"I will get rich whether I win or not".
This is the tree root, and everything else is the branches and stems from this basic goal. He is rumored to have stocks in oil and gas companies and combine it with cabinet appointees and other actions, I think you may be wrong on this one as far as the intention behind this move. You have more noble ideas of what is going on than what is actually going on.
Why is it foolish? Obviously he wants to kill the Clean Power Plan & significantly gut the EPA and its $8 billion budget, give more power back to the states. Does that mean completely eliminate the good work the EPA does do? I don't think so...
If you took over as CEO of a business that you felt was struggling, wouldn't you want to review the employees, the objectives and money that business was spending before allowing it to continue on its previous course?
If I'm wrong, and it ends up being the worst case scenario some in this thread are painting, then I'll say it was wrong. I'm not going to condemn anything before we see how it turns out just because I have some preconceived notion about Trump
Nah you're not helping yours with the omg clean water clean air bullshyt.
This isn't about that, it's about the over regulation. The EPA went well off the course of what it should be doing (environmental protection) a long time ago
Examples, please?
I actually do EPA reporting (EPCRA) for my company and it's certainly regimented...but necessary work.
Just legitimately curious to see your examples of the EPA going "off the course".
But the emails...
you don't even know it, but universities are already seeing a reduction in international students because of Trump's moronic statements. Was reading about some people who stated that they were given funding from the EPA to do research and they just got notified that those grants are frozen.
I suggest educated individuals who are hurt by this, take your talents to Canada. Brain drain this retard country so they can sacrifice every public good to lie to coal miners and factory jobs that we're going to be booming like the 50s again.
I asked him for receipts before, he doesnt have any.
He literally is just making up anything to protect his leader, Trump.
