White House temporarily freezes EPA grants, contracts

So basically.. don't spend anymore money until we review what's going, on and don't leak any shyt until the media until we're done (which clearly, is a problem considering this got leaked)

But again, you wanna get hysterical about something so go head

So you're cool having no idea what the government is up to?:what:

"Just take my tax money and do whatever you want, it's better if I don't know so I won't try to stop you":what:

I thought Republicans wanted transparency and accountability :what:

Again, absolute bullshyt. Those grants are necessary to ensure you and I can consume clean food, water and air.

You really think we're all of the sudden gonna be living among polluted food, water and air :comeon:

The EPA is one of the biggest examples of overregulated government bureaucracy. It needs to be scaled back and that's all that appears to be happening here.

If this continues beyond a temporary status, I would agree. Right now we have an EPA that clearly doesn't align with the new president's views. Once the new administration sets up the EPA in its vision, I expect full transparency at that point.

we're talking about cleaning up contaminated sites and water

Take your head out of your ass for more than the prescious few seconds that you come up for air and you'd realize the air food and water we consume already are polluted. The EPA is in place to slow the pace of our pollution so other things can, ya know, also live and breath in this atmosphere.

How often do leaders give back power after they have taken it?:dahell:

This guy lives for twitter and he successfully silenced opposition in one motion.

You honestly think he's gonna just give that up willingly:usure:

I really think 99% of the U.S. citizenry has no idea how close we are to unbreatheable air and polluted food and water. Companies used to openly emit harmful chemicals into the air and water supply. We had shyt like DDT going into the soil. Just a couple years ago a slaughterhouse was trying to secretly dump cow oful(leftover parts and blood) in the Trinity River in Dallas. Companies don't give a fukk about us and will tear this earth and your health to pieces if it helps the bottom line. That's not a far fetched fantasy. That was called the 20th century United States.

Was reading about some people who stated that they were given funding from the EPA to do research and they just got notified that those grants are frozen.

I suggest educated individuals who are hurt by this, take your talents to Canada. Brain drain this retard country so they can sacrifice every public good to lie to coal miners and factory jobs that we're going to be booming like the 50s again.

You're not helping your case.
The irony, that comment makes supporting this more stupid. Yep they also put a lot of money towards research in different areas and have a wider impact on our society than just making sure companies aren't dumping toxic waste.

This idea that everything can be handled by the private sector is stupid. Private sector is concerned about profits and there are some areas in human life where public good is more important than making a dollar. In fact, in a lot of cases, money muddies the water and turns public good services into immoral institutions (i.e. for profit prisons or for profit military).

Nah you're not helping yours with the omg clean water clean air bullshyt.

This isn't about that, it's about the over regulation. The EPA went well off the course of what it should be doing (environmental protection) a long time ago
Oh yeah, what is your biggest gripe? Be specific.
