Well, People in the earlier thread either said I was lying about interviews or that I wouldn't get any offers.
I took a pay cut of about 30 thousand dollars, so this is an L and a win at the same time. I start at the standard entry level public accounting salary....
And what would it prove to post saying that you got a job? It's still all speculative.

I'm almost there yeah. but you can't really get any where without a CPA and Big firm experience.
so.. what am I to do?
I can make 80-90k the rest of my life. or I can take hit and make 150k+ in 5+7 years, plus I will be much more in demand and mobile.
I think the choice is obvious.
Will I be a partner? probably not, but I think I have the personality for it. For sure.
Maybe you should take it easy on the bragging because your accomplishment is really quite modest.

I come from a poor family with a drug dealing father, and I lived in a poor area controlled by gangs, drugs and crime. I'm also an African American at least on paper. I was an at risk youth that was involved in gangs and drug dealing as teenager, and I passed through high school with Ds and Cs.
I turned my life around went to community college, worked full time, and eventually got master's degree.
I beat the odds my entire life. I don't think my accomplishments are modest at all.
If anything, I am a ray hope to all the down-trodden kids in my hometown, a completely fukked up city that is completely hopeless. I mean seriously, at all these pre-interview parties. I am never the oldest person at these things, but I am almost always THE ONLY PERSON OF BLACK descent. I represent the Blacks and Browns (statistically black, and visually hispanic to most people). I always put my best foot forward and represent the NAM (non asian minorities) with dignity and honor. Look for brown mexicans, Blacks, or even south east asians, and you'd hard pressed to find them in these places.
Take away the Trollish nature of this thread think about that for minute.
