And again, even amongst turnup spots, not all of them want you standing on furniture, so asking them to stop isn’t the problem. The problem isn’t the misunderstanding, it’s him berating them as if they were way off base to think that twerking was acceptable.

In one time in my life, a person was told to get of the furniture in a restaurant.

It was a drunk cac, and the music was rock.

Standing on furniture should not be the go to move n any restaurant, Breh.

Especially during Sunday brunch...c'mon..

What you're not seeing, perhaps because you don't want to, is obvious to everybody else.
When the restaurant OWNER has to make this kind of announcement, the lowlife element has gotten way too comfortable there. They've probably been showing their ass figuratively, before this incident.
Now they are doing it literally.

He's fed up that he has to tell adults how to carry themselves in public.

It was a shame.

There’s a brother here in DFW that started an upscale gourmet restaurant out of a gas station. Half of the restaurant was a fukin convenience store with Funyuns and Hi-C and the other half was white linen service separated by a half wall. Gas pumps outside and everything.

He managed the clientele perfectly...had well-off black folks and white folks frequenting his joint and it grew. No DJs or ratch music. Every time I’ve been in there, nothing but nice, well dressed black and white folks enjoying the food. Expanded to open an additional spot on the other side of town and he’s feasting, even in COVID. This is what the OP dude should strive for. Hate to say it, but you can’t cater to just black folk in a restaurant...you gotta have that cac dollar to keep it moving.

Class is generally lacking in contemporary Black culture.

I’m not even surprised anymore when stories like this pop up.

A lot of this falls on the shoulders of Black men. We are supposed to set the tone in our community. We aren’t on our game as Black men overall. And our women’s behavior is a reflection of that.

I think it's perfectly reasonable to not expect patrons to stand on booths and dance. I mean regular clubs discourage that type of shyt. But I find it odd that instead of just playing a basic mix via speakers, he hires a DJ. People are going to naturally want to dance with a DJ. From a post he put on Facebook, it looks like there were three tables of women twerking and he addressed them in a better manner earlier. I guess he got fed up, but I also assume that day wasn't the first time this happened.

And judging from that menu, that nikka needs a DJ because the food is definitely not why people are going there. But you can't have the DJ playing "Twerk that ass" or "W.A.P." and expect these drunk ass women to not want to dance.

Also, you can tell he does need their money because he's open during a pandemic and restaurants are high risk when it comes to spreading. The COVID protocols on the website say you can't book a party of more than four and only the employees are screened.

But either way, he'll be fine. It's a lot of people that agree with how he handled the situation, and if there's one thing that women love, it's brunch.

Your limited experience is not absolute. I’ve already told you that brunch spots that turnup (including standing on furniture and twerking) exist and have been popping over the last decade.
